It has not been able to find a large user base for years. Program and Plantfactory is now free.
May 6, 2024 at 1:46 pm #2073610I still have the Vue 4 install CD media!
At the time, it was an awesome app that provided way better rendering than Poser ever did, with a ton of outdoor abience that Poser could never do. Honestly, once I was able to competently import Poser figures into it (albeit as static exported .obj files), it opened a whole new world.
Gonna grab the d/loads...
PS: You should post this in the Free Resources forum too.
May 6, 2024 at 5:49 pm #2073645Truly nostalgic.....goes back about 15 years
May 6, 2024 at 6:59 pm #2073653It does.
I looked a bit through the docs and sniffed around... I think I'll look for ways to export the scenery into DAZ, since the textures are still the same way they were 15-20 years ago, when you have to laboriously re-make every texture mapping, and it wound up looking like plastic.
The Poser importer might work, though? Not sure if I want to re-install Poser just to find out.

Ditto @Pooper. There was a utility to export Poser people directly into Vue but I can't remember what it was called. Or maybe that was for C4D or 3DS Max... too long ago to remember.
I do remember it took a lot of work with textures and transmaps. I must have been much more committed in those days because I wouldn't stuff around with that these days.
Here are 2 examples of Poser to Vue I did from 2009-
May 7, 2024 at 1:24 pm #2073778I remember the utility existing; I think it worked only up to Poser 9 or 10? A peek about google says similar.
You are right, though - there was lots more patience back then to get something put together. Of course, it was the same with hardware, too.
Thx for the images... now I want to install this thing and find out what I can do with it.
May 7, 2024 at 2:55 pm #2073787Thanks ThomasBR !
I've added a [Free] Post for those that miss this thread.May 8, 2024 at 4:23 am #2073894After looking through my old stuff the plugin I was thinking about was called Poser Fusion that bridged to Max, Maya, C4d, Lightwave and others. No longer available or works after Poser and the other progs were updated.
