Mousso's newer MATs are good.
Cherubit's MATs are often pretty great, especially settings right out of the box.
But for the subtle and controlable pale I sometimes seem to be looking for, I keep going back to Sangriart. Specifically Olesya. It has a rosy-ness that's not lost in the desaturated pale of the skin, so highlights like face-cheek redness and fingertips and feet redness look more realistic.
Cherubit's Milan had an interesting skin shader setting which I merged, and it brought out some different realism I hadn't seen in the original Sangriart product. So I've run with that a bit as well, going back and forth with different SSS settings depending on the scene.
More recently the Madarocsi / HumanXYStudios bases have looked interesting. Started out with Vera V2 but the colors ended up being all over the place (red legs with yellow/jaundice torso & arms). Monica V2 has been better, but still a work in progress.
This is speaking all in G8. I really need to get back to G8.1 tests when I can. The Victoria 8.1 portrait testing went well a ways back and should take more priority time. Mousso's Maureen and Saffire are waiting for light tests and could very well be better than anything going anyway.
