Not having this function 'in-site' is a major loss.
Won't be bothered saving elsewhere - not interested in jumping al over the place for something that has been a major benefit for years.Fail to see how Favs are affecting 504 [if that is what is being implied] very little 504 probs [just reset if happens] and i use Nord vpn, very few problems.
Still think Favs should be persevered with, and fixed not dumped.July 11, 2020 at 8:35 AM #1614055@tectavio My main browser is Opera and I've tried VPN, but it didn't help. In fact, I've tried 3-4 different browsers and nothing helped with this 504 issue.
@fuzzy3000 I am not happy about this either, but you are missing the point here. You will eventually get to my position where you can't connect to the site due to overwhelming amount of favorites in your list and the issue will be a lot bigger than you think. Just let @hunter fix the problem and re-implement the list if possible. If not, then better to get rid of something that is preventing people from connecting to the site. What I did was go to "favorites" and copy the whole favorite list to a notepad and whenever I purchase something I like I just copy the name and paste it in that notepad. It works the same even if it's a bit more tedious than before, but at least I can use the site.

HI,
Sorry - but not missing the point - my point is different to yours. But I will never get to an overwhelming amount of Favs in my list - i do not use it to keep track of everything wanted or purchased.
Why would anyone need to use it for all purchases - I have a folder structure with all items in that. If I need to know if I have i.e. a sci-fi item, I look in the sci-fi collection folder [interior / exterior/ props or suits] etc.I use the Favs to keep a list of items that I am possibly interested in, as well as ones that I have decided to purchase in a little while - maybe when I have 10 items to download [and time to do so].
There will, probably, never be more than 50 or so items in there.
If the amount of items in your Fav list is causing you that much of a problem then you should look at alternatives, as the list is not suitable for your needs.
That does not mean that it should be taken away completely - as it still suits my needs, and probably many others too.
If it is still capable of being used, then it is more beneficial if members are just informed of its limitations.
The Favs list is not stopping you connecting because it is overly faulty - it is the unusually over useage that you are putting on it.And the 504's have been playing up for over a year - but are still nothing more than a passing annoyance. Its not as if we have to travel for hours, to reach our favourite store, only to keep finding the doors are locked, and have to come back later.
Internet - go make a coffee and try again - no luck, play with DS, and try again. No walking, no petrol used, no bus fare lost. 🙂 🙂Anyone with exceptionally high Fav content - slim it down - not force everyone to have to lose the function.
You could still find a use for it as well.
If not you will still have to find an alternative - along with everyone who still finds it useful. Compromise for benefit of all...
🙂July 12, 2020 at 10:45 AM #1614293Iam sorry but are you sure, about the after 7 days part, because my favs are all gone already 🙁
July 12, 2020 at 1:14 PM #1614324They originally went, and came back on the same day of the announcement [the 10th July].
They have now gone again - but the 7 days should be the 17th July.Although it would still be far better to keep the function, and give a general guidance notice to members that it should be kept to a manageable number of items to help avoid the issues [I have no problem with up to 50 or so items].
Anyone experiencing problems due to excessive content list should trim it to reduce their issues - not have it taken away from those that still find it useful, but do not populate it to the extreme... 🙂July 12, 2020 at 3:47 PM #1614341@fuzzy3000 "Why would anyone need to use it for all purchases – I have a folder structure with all items in that. It is far more convenient for me to see if the item is faved than the go in Daz Studio and search it which will take a couple of minutes minimum. Also, if I "buy" something on ZoneGFX it means I like it enough to consider it "favorite" item. I don't buy absolutely every item. I don't have the points or the HDD space to store them all. But the fact of the matter is I am sure there are a lot of people like me who favorite it to keep track of the items they own. I am very sad this was what caused the 504 error on the site, because the favorite list was super duper cool in my eyes. I really hope @hunter looks for a way to re-implement it in the future. I really hope so.
@tectavio I will check that out, but it seems favorite is already gone so I wouldn't know if it makes a difference or not...July 12, 2020 at 8:28 PM #1614362@ace94 Excuse me! I'm a fool! I got confused!😅
This video is about "on more step"!July 28, 2020 at 1:39 PM #1617402@Hunter

Gateway time-outMaybe not Favs after all...???
July 28, 2020 at 10:34 PM #1617444My 504 problems went away after favs was disabled. I think 504 appears now when the site is overloaded. Definitely haven't seen it appear on my side ever since he disabled the fav list.
July 29, 2020 at 12:08 AM #1617463@ace94 Have you tried using Opera GX?
