Earning Points - A suggestion.

You often see people including myself asking for help in identifying items (clothing, hair, props, etc.)

The person asking could offer points for the first person to correctly identify the item. I've done so recently in a couple of post I've made.

I like your idea. I also see people looking for tutorials, I'm sure some have skills that can do that too. Your idea would work, on other sites I make points uploading freebies to order.

I know some message boards have a "thanks" button for HELPFUL posts, and ones that solve someones issue, or just good general knowledge. Maybe something like that would be good here, and each "thanks" received could be worth something like 5 points or more, depending on the status of the thanker. Or maybe even users can thank by sending a "tip" from their own points

I could see the 'Thanks' button being abused. Someone makes a bunch of logins, then all these logins 'thank' one of them a bunch of times to farm points.

That could be, thats why I suggested a "weighted" value for each thanks. The thanks from "Low level users" dont have much value, it any at all.
