I like having all the promo images offline so I can browse through them faster when needed instead of opening the store page every time. Sometimes, people sharing the assets include them, but not always. So instead of manually downloading them, I was wondering if there is any easy way to do it, perhaps a script or extension that would download the images at full resolution.

I tried downthemall, but it only grabs the main promo and not the rest.

    Any ideas?

Have you try HTTrac? I used it in the old times to DL pictures from P-sites. You will find it Here......CLICK

There is a very nice step by step tutorial, How to use the little prg. Check here.

And they have a very nice Httrack Users Guide. You will need to read this, because there are many parameters to go. And this you find Here.

have you tried Jdownloader? Should do just about anything you would ever need it to do when it comes to downloading.

@Lucafeelgood Thanks, I will check that out. This seems like a really powerful tool, and maybe a bit too complicated for my command line skill level lol

Edit: Uh I swear I clicked "Reply". Does this forum not quote the post which is replied to?

Thanks, never knew this download manager. Seems really handy. And it works! Only caveat is using the daz store link takes like 3 minutes to scan the page itself and it downloads the whole html page including a bunch of scripts, trackers and whatnot. Otherwise, it's solid. I'm all ears if you know of a way to download only the promo images

@jackie2 All fine..The Bel was ringing.
BTW The prg looks complicated but you can handle it. Just follow the steps.
Tell me if it works for you

    Hello @jackie2

So you want to download only the promo images, not the thumbnails and all the rest of the page ?
I happened to have some free time (for a change lol) and decided to give it a go.

After a few lines of code and some head scratching, here you have it :
1 - copy/paste the DAZ page URL in the edit field
2 - click the download button
3 - wait and get your images.

Images will be prefixed with DAZ, then _ and the asset name (without spaces), another _ and a sequence number incremented for each image.
Example : DAZ_OpossumbyAM_004.jpg for the fourth image of this asset.

NOTE : images are downloaded within the directory where the executable is located, so it can put some mess on your desktop if the asset has 25 images 🙂 , better put it in a sub-directory somewhere.
NOTE : application is portable, no installation needed
NOTE : only works with DAZ assets (at the moment)
NOTE : Windows only , sorry
NOTE : might not work on your system - I'm ready to provide some support but keep in mind this is not a professional project and has only been tested on a few different rigs.

Link to the little software : My little image downloader software

Last note : I coded this, so I can guarantee there is no hidden "call-home" function or intentional virus inside, but the soft will access the web to download images and your firewall might ask for a permission.

Hope it helps, was fun to develop 🙂

    Cheers

    Math

@mathmathou That is a small, fine and simple program. Does exactly what it should do. In any case, it is better than HTTrac. Well... better? no..... different. Thanks Math.

I apologise if I'm misreading something, but it seems to me that opening the store page would be much more efficient than having a folder full of images, most of which I assume would be of things you don't want.

@jackie2 We had Cross posting. I think you should try this Little prg from Math. Works as a charm. Just you are looking for, if you are not afraid for some code.

    @Lucafeelgood

Funny... when I compile it on my machine and analyse it with Windows Defender, nothings happens, but when I download it from my Mega account, Windows Defender turns crazy (when Eset NOD 32 does not).

    Go figure 🙂

Do you think I should add an option to download from DAZ / Renderosity / Renderotica and Renderhub ?

@Frank21 I like having all the pics alongside the asset files so I can see what it has then and there (I mean all the options, presets, textures, etc). And it helps to have them offline when internet is slow.

@mathmathou Weird. My Windows Defender wasn't bothered lol

And if it's not a problem, making it work for those sites too would be great!
