Nice, but still barely usable in Poser unlike Gen4 characters 🙁
April 28, 2018 at 11:47 PM #587145Is Poser willfully neglecting G8 or is Daz making life difficult for them? Reguardless of quality Daz is shooting out products very quickly. Iray, Dforce, G8 and loads of miscellaneous junk. I still like V4 and im sure she still renders well but she renders in Daz also.

That issue has been the talk of the community for over a decade.
Rumors circulated it was all DAZ's fault, others said it was all Smith Micro's fault.I guess we will never know :/

I never had any issues with Poser crashing.
Poser was much more capable and user friendly than DS IMO.
It's a real shame the relationship between DAZ and SM fell apart 🙁April 29, 2018 at 4:44 PM #587871With Poser basically copying the Daz web page, I get the feeling they are coming up for air for the last time. What I hope would happen is Poser sells out to Daz and Daz incorporates the best of both worlds. Just browsing contentparadise today and I see little improvement in products over the time I left and came back. Daz on the other hand is like walking into a store thats been fully remodeled and added new products to the inventory.

SM is lagging behind I agree with that, and that's a shame for Poser users in general. But all I see from DAZ is predatory behavior, a company who just buys up the competition and locks everyone into their world of regurgitated pin-up products. The best thing someone who's interested in 3D art can do is to start creating content themselves. DAZ is not the start or the end in 3D worldsville.

Exactly. That's why it's important to seek out other online storefronts for this stuff and support those content creators, too. Gumroad, Renderhub, Patreon, etc.
Contrary to what some people think, competition is a good thing. It bolsters creativity (especially when you're not confined to just pumping out female-related shit all the time), it keeps the markets healthy, and it keeps prices competitive. If you don't have any competition, then everything stagnates.
As pessimistic as this sounds, I think we're nearing the stagnation point. But who knows.

April 29, 2018 at 7:51 PM #588046However Poser isnt really a competing. Only reason they are second is there isnt another one in the race.
Making your own content requires a few things im not blessed with. Sure I could create a texture by hiring a model and killing a few days piecing photos together. I could use G8 to make morphs but never actually make a rigged model from scratch anywhere close to SIMS quality. I think I could create clothes with some practice of reasonably good quality. This would be slow going and I could not do anything else like play PS4 or submit stuff for contests.
If anyone can do work like this here please upload it to the custom section.
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10oXCZsiPKQ)May 1, 2018 at 8:04 PM #590266Poser just shot themselves in the leg, when they tried to go autonomous while they were ahead, and it backfired badly. And, to add insult to injury, they failed to go in synch with tech. They are stuck with weight mapping, while the new DAZ rigging is far superior, and their Iray responce, is lacking woefully. And, all that came since they didn't want to get down with DAZ, and work a way to adopt the new DAZ tech. After all, Poser users were the main income source for DAZ, for over a decade, since Victoria 1
