@frank22
Again, the question was do you subconsciously treat people differently based on their avatar? How the hell do I know what you subconsciously think. Subconsciously means that you don't even know. 🙂December 27, 2021 at 8:29 AM #1761609If I don't even know then how the hell could I say if it affects me one way or the other. If do I know how it affects me then that's not subconscious by definition. How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?
December 27, 2021 at 8:32 AM #1761612Jeez @frank22, That's why I asked it in this way:
"I was just wondering. Has anyone noticed a difference in how they are treated when they change their avatar?"Notice the "they"
December 27, 2021 at 8:53 AM #1761615Well it's been a fun social experiment and I still don't know whether anyone treated anyone else differently in this thread based solely on their avatar. However, I do think the avatar of the old lady with the club and her unfortunate demise surely did affect this thread. RIP and goodnight 🙂

December 27, 2021 at 9:16 AM #1761621Always fun talking to you Frank 🙂
Happy New Year!
December 27, 2021 at 11:02 AM #1761629you guys are too funny , (says the cat) 🙂
I'm just waiting for ppl to be able to use 3d avatars and then u can ask the same question . that will make for a heated debate I think.December 27, 2021 at 2:38 PM #1761679Chohole is dead? This getting old business sucks, and Frank is right - she was a sweetheart if you weren't on her bad side, which was somewhat hard to do.
(I hadn't been in the DAZ forums in a dog's age, though.)
As to the topic, my avatar was tossed up as a joke when everyone started commenting on how old they were, and I found myself younger than most of you yutzes. 🙂
December 28, 2021 at 12:42 AM #1761819I think a lot of people were divided on Chohole. She seemed nice to me, but I never ran afoul of her. She also made a lot of textures for some of the older outfits that were just stunning and gave them away for free.
I wish I'd gotten them all before her site went down (hard drive crashed a few months before she died). Only some are still available on wayback machine.
I absolutely do associate people with their avatars, and since I don't recognize most of the characters/people in them, the pictures just become who they are. I sort of imagine John Lund, for example, typing away with his little Santa puppet hands. Frank, your change was shocking. I'm still in the process of updating your presence's image in my head.
Do I treat them differently? I can't say. I don't believe so? The attitude put off in posts is something I come to associate with the photo though. I'd say my treatment comes after several interactions.
Me? I'm just normal.

I don't know if I treat people differently... per say.
But if somebody has a identifibly female avatar, I guess I tend to treat them as female. And if it is a "male" avatar, I probably treat them as such.
Is that what were were scratching at?
