Yeah, Most of the links or items that i find that are broken, i report it, not for the refund, don't really care about that, but mostly so the poster can fix it, and be aware. Don't be mean. And don't rely on DIM, sure it's great, but look for the third party stuff. Pretty sure DAZ tracks with that anyway. Read the EULA.
Also, it's a site providing links to media offsite maintained by posters. The admins and mods aren't responsible for keeping the links good, that's an poster responsibility. Contact the poster directly after you post a broken link. Ask if they can test on their end. Zone is pretty clean site, (no not SFW) just not really any harmful malware popping up everywhere. The admins take great care to keep this nice an neat, and for the most part, safe. It's easy to use, well organized. It's not free, btw, someone (hunter) is flipping the bill. Donate $$$ to him.
@anjabear ! Tantrum, yes lol. And yeah, i have also downloaded items and used RAR (for the most part) and it says its broken, when it's not.
And DISHONEST? Seriously?! Harsh words.
3 of 8 files can’t be extracted because the are damaged. Reported this and meanwhile I’m really wondering what the report function is for!
WinZIP and RAR aren't the greatest out there, 7Z is pretty reliable and better IMHO. Depending on the software used to compress, the archive might not be compatible with all extractors.
June 12, 2020 at 10:11 PM #1607837The file can’t be extracted because of an unexpected end of the archive. And I downloaded it twice. So the unnecessary traffic counts up to 14 GB. A repair doesn’t work because there are no recovery information saved in the file.
What file was it, i'll buy it just to try it.
June 12, 2020 at 10:12 PM #1607838@aftyrbyrn Apparently Daz changed the version of ZIP encryption they use which has caused a lot of issues with people's built in ZIP extractors in Windows or Mac as well. It has happened to me often, plus some downloaders like GoogleDocs or MEGA sometimes corrupt stuff IF you tell it to download everything as a ZIP - cause it rezips the stuff again before sending it to you - its zipping a set of ZIPs... that is asking for trouble.

June 12, 2020 at 10:34 PM #1607839First of all, thank you very much for these valuable information about the "background".
50 points NEVER were the point but the lack of any response! I didn't even know if anyone took notice of the report and without this thread I would never know
the links were fixed. A little *fixed* in the blog title would help a lot. I've seen this several times from Monk.
@Aftyrbyrn It were the files 3, 5 and 6.
I don't know the source, but know I got working zip files!
@AnjaBear I load the files seperately everytime!June 12, 2020 at 11:06 PM #1607844Well it just finished, had to switch IP Addresses cuz of mega's 5gb limit, a few times, but it's done. I'll try it out. Graphics is my hobby, IT is my life (Windows/Unix/Linux/SANs/VMWARE/NUTANIX etc..) so large zip tar and other packed files are somethign i deal with alot, i'll figure it out and let you know.
June 12, 2020 at 11:07 PM #1607845Hey, you know what, a discord channel would be great at this point. We could collaborate. ANd by the way, 3 extracted just fine with 7Z on my PC. Watching it in VLC player now. It's got Wings and shit.
June 12, 2020 at 11:16 PM #1607848Now the question is if it can be extracted by Winrar! if you got an uncorrupted version Winrar would do the job too I think!
Normally I have no problem using Winrar for zip files from any source! And for 5 of 8 it played really well. -
