I have seen it used in animations, but for single frame renders, other than getting a nice drape, which I suppose is good if you can get it to do it, is there much point / advantage to it?

dForce, used correctly, can create some stunning effects for cloth, making it move or pose more naturally than the rather stiff default settings.

dForce, however, is crap. As many things DAZ, it's... a good idea, poorly executed. Among other things, its physics sim is... flawed, at best, and the controls aren't very good either.

Basically, applying dForce to a non-dForce enabled item usually ends up in "not so good" effects (it can work, by all means, but it's a bit of a hit or miss situation). dForce ready assets, on the other hand, where the dForce sets have beenn added and tested beforehand, are usually a lot better than the non-dForce equivalents, simply because they move and behave more naturally.

    Thanks for the reply.

So that is pretty much as I thought then?

Good idea but doesn't work well at the moment.

Limited use for single frame renders.

Move over to C4D or another creative app if you want real simulation.
DAZ is trying to emulate features in other paid for software but has always fallen short. The word 'Free' is a giveaway as to it's limitations.

TBH as long as I am getting a good result in a static single frame render, I am happy.

It sounds like I am not missing much if I ignore it then.

    🙂

Yah, it all depends on the results you want 🙂
