This is actually very simple to answer but for me it is very important since it is a sensitive topic: I’ve downloaded a couple of plugins here like the scene optimizer for daz etc. I recently read that this plugin has been updated several times but here you can find only the old version. So the idea is to update this plugin via the official install manager but since I didn’t officially bought this in the DAZ store I’m not quite sure what will happen when the install manager “recognizes” the plugin. Will it be double checked with my DAZ account? If so, will it “see” that I have it but I didn’t officially buy it? Thank you in advance.

If you have a working serial for the earlier version, it should hold good for the updated version too.
🙂
September 13, 2019 at 2:20 PM #1244276Thanks but is it a risk to have the install manager online with those packages?
I mean, it is connected with my DAZ account...September 13, 2019 at 2:48 PM #1244320I try to avoid using the install manager.
September 13, 2019 at 5:19 PM #1244489Personally, I would try to stay away from using install manager with anything that requires a key, simply because that is traceable.
clothing, characters...pretty much anything you can get here other than anything that requires a key - good luck proving anything is amiss...
Plugins? Whole different story..."OH, you've got [insert plugin here] installed, and the key that goes with it? Oh dear, that was licensed by Jane Johnson...uummm...But your name is Harry Henderson?? What's up with that??"
September 13, 2019 at 6:10 PM #1244559Updating content with install manager will not work, as you don't have the software or content bought and connected to your DAZ account that Install manager uses to download content.
I would recommend to not use pirated content and connect to DAZ servers with install manager, ever.
In other words, don't use IM at all, install all content manually by copying the files and folders.
If you have time, you could also sort the content when you do it into the folders you want. It will save you time later on as you at some point will have to sort your content archive, either the raw archive or inside DAZ.
Because as we all know the content creators all put their shit in the most stupid hard to find places and under stupid folder names.September 13, 2019 at 7:44 PM #1244646September 13, 2019 at 11:11 PM #1244828Thank you guys for your help!
