For those wondering what i'm talking about, this is one of the "new" product released today at the Daz Store.
https://www.daz3d.com/fantasy-bargain-bundle-2Yeah. It's a new "Theme" Bundle made from previously released product.
When i saw that, i just couldn't stop laughting at the irony. Why ?
From time to time, people are bringing up the topic here about people making "custom" bundle of already posted/shared product here. Saying it's a cheesy wait of milking/stealing point from the people who originaly posted the product and being offuscated by that. ( By the way, i agree with them on that!)
There is also the "other way around" topic. Where people are posting product from a bundle individualy instead of the full bundle. (Like in the case of a starter or pro bundle.) Again, trying to milk the point system.Personnaly, my whole view on all this is......it's acceptable to see a product posted in any way or shape a product is originaly being sold. I don't mind product being posted alone or in a bundle when they are sold like that. What do bugs me thought, it's people making huge huge HUGE freaking custom bundle just for the sake of having a huge pile of ressource being available for a cheap download. Especially when those product are all already available.
I know some people can say it goes with a good feeling, saying it help people who really go not a lot of point to acquire tons of product at once, but seriously, if you are diligent with your download (not just downloading everything for the sake of downloading something!) and just take your time by coming frequently and participating to the website, point is never an issus. You still get 2 downloads per day minimum!
Also, huge freaking file of multiple Gb are a arse to download and prone to problem or interruption.Anyway, to return to the orinal topic of this post. Seeing Daz Store now making his own "custom" Bundle when thinking about what i have just said above it just making me laught so hard. Ha ha ha. I mean...i guess i'll just shrug and say "Oh well!"
December 28, 2018 at 9:30 PM #899022It's not just previously released stuff... it Genesis *2* stuff! The people interested in such old items probably already have most of it. Personally, I would not want those two bundles even if they were free.
December 28, 2018 at 11:03 PM #899128And don't forget - https://www.daz3d.com/fantasy-bargain-bundle
Most of the products contained in this 'bundle' have SKU's with only 4 digits!
I'm assuming they're trying to take advantage of the recent converter products that make better use of older products for the newer models. But then again, I don't think anyone really knows what Daz is up to.
December 29, 2018 at 6:39 PM #900310@EvilMonkey You are probably right. Maybe they try to pump a bit more money from those product old enough to start collecting dust but not old enough to not be irrelevant. Like Genesis 2 stuff.
Today, they added two more bundle like these theme around the gothic theme.
I guess if those are starting to generate enough sells, it'll only be a matter of time before we start to see more and more of these. I doubt we'll see G3 bundles like this soon, but maybe eventualy.Eh! I guess it's kinda a win-win things for us. There are still a good deal of items from Genesis 2 and Genesis that are not yet available yet here. If those bundles offert a bunch of them at a really cheap price, i guess it's a good things for us.....right ? Ha ha ha!
December 29, 2018 at 9:00 PM #900450Don’t forget, recent clothing converters to Genesis 8 have made older content more appealing to people who have a huge library of stuff already, so there’s likely some G8-only people seeing these items for the first time and think they’re worth buying to convert. And if they manage to make a V4/M4 to Genesis 8 converter? Well... that’ll be something, for sure.
December 30, 2018 at 12:11 PM #901222There is a lot of V4 content which plays nicely with a recent DS autofit.
Not everything by any means, but a lot of decent stuff.
It really depends how it was created in the first place.
