Hello guys, what is the advantage of DAZ against Character Creator ? and is CC easier for a beginner to make a 1 minutes video clip with already made characters and movements ?
October 9, 2023 at 1:44 PM #2034793It is horses for courses really.
Daz Studio is better at single frame renders, I suspect CC will be a lot better & quicker for animations.
October 9, 2023 at 7:04 PM #2034846Character Creator: is found behind a much bigger paywall, and graphically is much inferior to Daz. Also, it doesn't have all the assets that Daz has. Also, CC is more suited towards real-time rendering and animation.
Daz: is geared more towards creating still images with a huge array of poses, clothing, facial expressions, hairs, and is graphically superior, and assets cost a fraction of what CC assets cost.
So, overall, it's like comparing apples with steak.
October 9, 2023 at 9:49 PM #2034877oh ok thnx, it makes sense now for only 1 frame use
October 9, 2023 at 9:50 PM #2034878i see, but since the content of CC is here for free that gives +1 to CC for me, thnx for explanation
December 8, 2023 at 6:06 AM #2047340If I only wanted to learn one software, I'd go for blender.
Iclone+CC4 is an AMAZING toolset for quick character creations and animations. If you throw that into Unreal your bound to be making beautiful animations in no time (as long as you have the assets already made.)
Blender is my go-to for making nice looking environments and props. There are a ton of addons to allow you crazy amount of functionality at the click of the button and you can create hard and soft surfaces with ease. If you put the time into searching around, youll be hard pressed to find something blender CANT do. Great software if you don't want to be switching between programs all the time and a ton of cross functionality if you wanted to.
December 8, 2023 at 8:25 AM #2047345If you want animation, you have to go, whether you like it or not, through external programs such as Maya, MotionBuilder or Cascadeur. Particularly, I reject Blender, no matter how free it is: complicated interface and many parameters, although it is my opinion...
And for rendering, Cinema 4D with good engines like Arnold, Vray, Redshift...: Never Iray, which can work well for a bucolic image, but making a video with Daz is crazy!!!
Genesis/Daz or CC/iClone? They are just bases for exporting...December 9, 2023 at 12:45 AM #2047467I don't trust pirated versions of cc though, mostly because of how sketchy they seem.
