We have seen how the "bridge" plugins have flourished.
Do not be surprised at anything that will soon arrive for Unreal and Unity, with which Daz would open more doors to other markets.
At https://github.com/daz3d/DazToUnreal, there is the code. The plugin has long sold for $ 41 at https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/daz-to-unreal.
The author is the same.
I have not been able to compile this plugin that is made in Visual Studio 2017. (I use 2019 and it gives me errors ..)
What was said. We will see him for free soon ...February 22, 2025 at 9:57 PM #2118914I'm trying to export to unreal 5.4 and it's a nightmare... the more II try, the messier my computer gets... does anyone knows how to install it and do it properly?
February 23, 2025 at 4:34 PM #2119026@Abad: I'm on UE5.2 and haven't considered installing the bridge until now. I looked over the github distro and it seems the author has provided compiled versions of the plugin in his releases link. So if this is the case, why are you wanting to compile from source (I'm on VS 2019 and 2022, as well)? Just curious.
February 24, 2025 at 3:25 AM #2119077So DAZ bought the thing to kneecap it and let it rot behind a paywall?
The original github link posted in the OP now redirects to Fab dotcom. However it looks like the original and a newer repo still exist there:
https://github.com/search?q=daz%20to%20unreal%20bridge&type=repositoriesCan @abad or anyone confirm that this is the same sourcecode, or equivalent/better? (or does it matter lol)
Anyway, there's that.February 24, 2025 at 1:33 PM #2119140abad hasn't been here in 7 months. He seems to have moved on.
February 24, 2025 at 6:15 PM #2119159@Amber: I just now downloaded the plugin from this link: https://github.com/daz3d/DazToUnreal, I then opened the download with RAR:

It looks legit. This is Daz's own Github account, not a third party fork. The OP's link goes where it's supposed to and the 649k DLL and UE modules are all included. Haven't installed it yet so don't know if it works.
This link: https://github.com/daz3d/DazToUnreal/releases has compatibility hotfixes for UE52 and 53, as well (which I may or may not need since I'm on UE52). But all the releases are there, pick the one that fits, I guess.
February 25, 2025 at 5:59 PM #2119312This is the version I'm using:
https://github.com/David-Vodhanel/DazToUnrealAs far as I know it's the most recent version of the bridge.
I haven't tried to import G9 yet, but have been successfully using it to import some G8/G8.1 stuff (characters, clothing, animations) into the latest version of UE (5.5.3).This video shows how to install it and export a character: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiZ1qAzIojM

February 26, 2025 at 4:07 PM #2119429I use the plugin from this github https://github.com/David-Vodhanel/DazToUnreal almost daily.
The developer is really nice guy and there is also a discord server were he assist other users. He does make the plugin for daz, but think they abandoned it a long time ago, he keeps it up to date. He is also on a epic megagrant to help keep it going.
