Based on the sticky thread posted by Richard on the DS forum, it seems the premier features are indeed some of the existing PA developed plugins. Luckily theses are still being sold a la carte outside the subscription.

You haven't been here long sandeep but I like the cut of your jib. You are knowledgeable and talk a lot of sense.

Oh, it looks like Daz Premier will have to be always connected to use those plugins.

Afaik, these two items are no longer available from the store:

    Figure Converter for Genesis 9

    Render Queue 3

Both these items are implemented as plugins i.e. EXEs and DLLs, not as DSA/DSE scripts.

This could imply that existing versions that were bought individually may not be compatible with future versions of the Studio. We have already seen this degree of coupling with GoZ and Measure Metrics plugins which gets updated with every release of Studio, rendering the previous versions unusable.

And another plugin vanished from the store:

    dForce Companion 2

It seems Daz has already promoted 4.23.0.1 into the public release channel. The product library is already updated to reflect this. However, I couldn't locate any public announcement for the release. Couldn't find any official "Genereal Release" thread for 4.23. The last comment on the existing 4.22 general release thread still refers to 4.22.0.19.

The change log at http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/start is also not updated yet.

Can someone confirm if these 3 plugins are still working on 4.23.0.1?

I tried the Character Converter only and it still works

    A fourth plugin is missing:

    Pose Companion for Genesis 9

    Wow! :00

Overnight the new public beta was withdrawn and a new public release made!

How now for testing & feedback?

If DS now needs to be online to use forget it.

I'm sticking with what I have!

I'll bet that Poser is/are rubbing their hands with glee thinking that everyone is going to rush over, buy Poser and a ton of content. Sure.
We are now (as predicted) the archive for Studio versions and content. I'll bet we start seeing more and more folks joining in order to get the non-premiere versions.

If that happens, there would be more than a few users who would pay only for a month's use in a whole year to get all their year's worth of service. Daz would then have to implement some kind of rate limit to throttle such usage. Only character transformation services can be provided that way, custom sculpting and render management still needs to happen on the user's desktop. I doubt they planned through all that.

Besides, that opens up the Pandora's box of legal implications, such as those involving proprietary or third party assets. Not everyone would be comfortable uploading their custom assets to Daz, especially when Daz has a foot in AI. We have already seen this with the Adobe user base.

Edit: Nevermind, I think I saw a post which anticipated these features to be provided as an online service to avoid piracy. But I can't locate that post. May be it was in the official forums.

I have got the impression that this release is more geared to winning over new users than supporting established customer base.

    So 4.23 will work offline?
