I'm having a hard time finding infos on this
Is there a console in daz that could be used to script exact bone placement like 3ds max?
Thanks!
March 22, 2023 at 11:04 PM #1945103DAZ Studio has its own scripting language called "DAZ Script 2" that you can use for that sort of thing (and a lot more). You can access the script console from the View->Script IDE pane.
See:
http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/startMarch 23, 2023 at 1:19 PM #1945468I'll never be able to get this done.
That Daz software is from Satan, Inc.
I was trying to rig a .obj from inside daz by hand and it was so horribly un-intuitive I thought about scripting it since I have all the bones positions
I don't understand why I'm not able to import a pre-rigged fbx, each time I do from any version or software, all the model parts are nowhere near the origin, they spawn everywhere in the scene like they essploded
My big problem, english not my 1st language! When I need infos about a particular topic, I will almost always ask the wrong question with the wrong keywords, and now that the search engines are woke it's even harder to find ANY infos about anything.

Scripting Scripts in Daz Studio?
Also the doku look and feel like it was last updated in 1998 so I think I'll do it by hand like in the darkedgedesign tutorial
March 23, 2023 at 11:45 PM #1945732Agreed, the docs that DAZ provides are there as a reference for developers, not so much as tutorials. The most useful way to get started with scripting is to look at some code examples:
The "Nodes" and "Geometry" sections in particular have some sample scripts that might be of use.
