Well they say you need a high-end card (they don't say how high) to get MetaHuman to work, which would be expected. But when you start adding props and scenery and complex lighting/shaders I'd say even a high-end card would struggle with real-time rendering. As Snooker says above, "film industries with all their manpower, skills and hardware." I don't see DS being threatened by this at all... different market altogether.
February 11, 2021 at 5:52 AM #1665468Now many actors act in front of green screens. The metahumans will conquer movie theaters within 10 years.
Many overrated actors lose their jobs.February 11, 2021 at 7:38 AM #1665477"Many overrated actors lose their jobs." It's about time. My god there's a lot of terrible actors these days, and equally pathetic films.
February 11, 2021 at 10:39 AM #1665498Hi Legolas!
Thank you for your reply to my post. Maybe I was unfair. I'm hope You will try out this Unreal Engine and will make better renders than in Daz Studio. I'm think so those animations on the youtube video not just with UE4. Need to more tools for these realistic animation. Real human face mimic scanning, sensors etc.
Have a nice day!
February 12, 2021 at 9:40 PM #1665951@kukoricaderce For people like me who use Unreal Engine, this product is VERY welcomed. But for people on here who only use Daz, this product does nothing for you guys. Just as new products/add ons for Maya, After Effects, iClone and so on. Daz always has updates as you guys know. So hype for stuff like this may not interest you, and that's ok. For people like me who have no life, it does a lot.
March 10, 2021 at 2:53 PM #1673882So let me get this straight UE4 and this new tool is good for crowds butz thats it they cant do more DAZ allowes you to mix chars etc also you can work with Zbrush and go deeper, this is a nice tool for sure but dont replace it
March 11, 2021 at 4:16 PM #1674190It's soooooo heavy! It took my PC about 15 minutes to just load the demo project! Will the final product be just as heavy? I think we will need the Summit to run it!
March 11, 2021 at 7:51 PM #1674249But I think my PC is good enough for that purpose!
My PC spec : Intel 9700K CPU, Corsair Vengeance 32GB RAM and RTX2070Super GPU.
Also, after loading the project, again took 5-7 minutes to compile all shaders too!March 11, 2021 at 8:19 PM #1674255May I ask what is the spec of your PC? Maybe it’s because my UE and projects are on HDD?
Off the topic: Could you get your hand on RTXGI?March 11, 2021 at 8:30 PM #1674257I think RTXGI is not public for all, did you apply for that on Nvidia site? Are you approved?!
March 12, 2021 at 10:37 AM #1674376I think you talk about Ray Tracing GI, not RTXGI! They are different from each other. This is a new plugin, it's in the early stages of development, and therefore it's not public for all users. You should fill an application form on Nvidia site and after approving you can access it thought GitHub. It's just for qualified developers at this moment.
March 12, 2021 at 3:55 PM #1674523Yeah, that's right. I think a new feature called Lumen that they showed in the UE5 demo will be completely game changer!
March 14, 2021 at 4:56 AM #1674943The thing with MetaHuman is that it's just a talking head. I saw a Youtube video today of that head attached to an animated body and it looked like a stupid sock-puppet. Maybe one day they'll give the head a body of equal quality, but until then it's pretty useless for what most people want.
