The animation is as follows: Character is doing something for like 8 seconds. She is looking at the same thing. Her head is not supposed to move. At around 8 seconds, she looks up. Everything about her body remains the same aside from her lower and upper neck as well as her head. I created a key frame for her lower and upper neck as well as her head at the point where the looking up begins (Frame 90 at 12 FPS), and then created another key frame at Frame 102. Then I pinned all other bones and moved her head to where she's looking up on that frame. So everything stays the same as far as where her head and neck are positioned until frame 90. At frame 90, she begins to look up. At frame 102, she is looking at what she's supposed to look at. So, over the course of 1 second, her neck bones as well her head move to where they need to be.

The problem: For some reason, after I've created the frame 90-102 animation on her head and neck bones, her head moves down as though she is looking lower from Frame 0 until Frame 90. I have programmed her head NOT to move until Frame 90. Her upper and lower neck bones as well as her head should not start to move until Frame 90. But they do. In the opposite direction of where I want to go. What gives?

I've decided on a workflow that involves rendering in Daz, then taking the renders to PS to put a comic effect on the renders. The idea is that the clunky animations aren't as jarring when cartoon/comic book characters are doing them rather than photorealistic characters. It's working nice, except that I can't figure out the animation part of it because Daz continues to present these roadblocks. I've finally figured out how to keep hands and feet planted on the target object using Limbstick. That problem is basically solved. Now there's this. How do you stop it?

I would look at her parameters under 'currently used' somewhere between 1-89 and see what differs from what it is at 0. A parameter got set somewhere, and if you can find it you can remove its key from the timeline.

By "bones lock", do you mean pinning the bones or something else? Because I pinned all the major bones before begining the transition between frame 90 and 102. It was create key frame at 90 so the head doesn't start moving before then, pin all major bones, create frame 102, and finally pull the head into its position at 102.

I didn't do any changes to her facial expression during that time. She started with an expression and I made her blink a couple times before 90. It was just moving the neck and head.

I didn't touch any rigging to shape stuff before doing the frames in question or at any point. Do I need to uncheck some setting?

I did notice some slight changes to the parameters, but they were very incremental. When I copied the parameters value for the head bend from frame 0 and pasted it in later frames, it didn't seem to have an effect.

One thing that Limbstick does when you run that script is create a key frame on every frame, so I don't know if that has an effect, but I have to use it or things are wonky.

Animation in daz is a nightmare.
