This is about that fateful day in the past any of us felt that jolt or spark of creativity; it's not easy to put a time or date on it because it seems to just nip us in the bum and then make us do crazy things like stay up for days and bid farewell to the outside world for a while, whilst we zone in on our computer monitors. It can make us drop huge amounts of money on supplies or tech to support the journey (and the journey is never easy).
The journey is littered with jagged rocks, poisonous thorns, mud and stinging insects. As a metaphor for the inner struggle to feel whole heartedly validated in our creative endeavors, often times our skin can feel raw and sensitive to any sort of poking or prodding, since we exist inside of that universe and it takes a great deal of courage to share that part of ourselves with others.
I've mostly been a designer/2D artist, but a three dimensional extraplanar demon has taken me hostage! I have learned a lot through exploring the communities online and wouldn't be nearly where I'm at with learning it, if it wasn't for the generous and fearless creative folk powering forward through the overgrowth and leading a path forward.
So with that I offer a great audiobook by one of my favorite artists which I've discovered recently, Marco Bucci's 'Creativity and the Campfire'. It has helped me personally with exploring more of my own creativity and understanding it.
Marco Bucci - Creativity and the Campfire
Sometimes we got to put the machete down and take time to build a fire and sit, think and take things slow and remember to relax. At the end of the day, we are all in this together. If you feel it helps you personally and you feel so inclined, please be sure to check out Marco Bucci's other items, and maybe toss 'im some coin.
