    People really need to learn how to do composite work instead of trying to do everything in one shot.

    @Dragon
    Sometimes you need to take the shot in one go because shade from one character affects the light on another. If not done together will look like stickers instead of actually being in the scene. My Photoshop skills isn't good enough to fake a character next to a character affected by light and shade correctly.

    @Aftyrbyrn

    Really turned on in the preview?? Damn!!

    @masin, yeah, really. I might be paying for it for a bit, but this is what it looks like

    First is texture rendered, then i switch to iRay, gotta let it render lights, then it's gold until you repose, and re-renders lighting again, but when fine tuning, it gives me a good idea of what's what.

    If you need to do multiple characters or otherwise run out of VRAM for a render, due to texture restraints, you can do canvases and just slap a full color on the parts hidden by the canvas (thereby foregoing the textures restraints), then swap out and render the previously canvased content. It's a hassle, but it works just fine (canvased content retains light and shadows)

    Luckily, this one is a single character render 😉

    @Aftyrbyrn - <whimpers and drools> I would love to have your system.

    @drgnmztr
    - Composite work is something I do a lot of. It can allow you to build big huge scenes with a lot of detail without having to have a massive system. On the down side, when you start throwing in lights and shadows it can be a major headache if you have never been able to develope mad skills with photoshop to blend them all together and get the lighting and shadows just right, resulting in either one shot scenes or a lot of building of buildboards/canvases which can be a pain in the .....

    Hence the reason for my statement. "need to learn". Learning is NOT a dirty word.
    I never said anything would be easy. If a system can't handle doing it one way, one should be looking for work-arounds.

    My system can't handle a lot of figures even with a GTX1070, so I find alternate ways of getting the job done. I get creative. Thats what an artist does. I had a puky 630 last year before I got the 1070, and I had to teach myself how to work around my rigs limitations. I still do.
    There are also tools and tutorials that teach one about deleting (not hiding) all the extra crap not actually IN the shot that people don't need, as well as texture reductions that help reduce render times.

    Here's one thats available here at Zone.. "Resource Saver Shaders Collection for Iray"

    Creative solutions are often produced in response to difficulties or hardships that need to be overcome. When people really need to do something, they will figure out a way to do it. Inventiveness and ingenuity are stimulated by difficulty.
    Necessity is the mother of invention, after all.

    Damn you guys need to make a step by step tutorial man. My Valkyrie Blaze Poster was a huge Ham Sandwich to make. I had to do a huge full render that didn't fully finish, then scaled that down to a smaller size then re-render the background with no characters, then I had to render the girl alone to overly them on the fail and the re-rendered background alone. Then I PHOTOSHOP the crap out of combining those images in layers like crazy. Then dropped that cat in with a WHOLE LOTA dust dirt and debris.

    If that background didn't render alone without the girls I would have had to submit the other landscape poster instead.

    My Rig is:
    AMD FX - 6300 Six-Core Processor - 3.5 GHz
    24 GB Ram
    GTX 1070ti
    and my Runtime folder runs off a 3Tb 3.0 USB Drive.

    I need to get a water cooler for my parts because now that summer is coming I can only run my system at 1.7GHz...

    That "Resource Saver Shaders Collection for Iray" I just got that a few weeks ago but I haven't learned to use it yet.

    The Canvas I also have to learn. Never knew they existed. I found this video online.
    Canvas System Tutorial Daz Studio Iray

    I'm to have to study those.

    My post never posted, but i wanted to point out the "Scene Optimizer". It's on the Zone and lets you selectively lower resolution and textures for models in your scene. That way you can take resources away from non important items, like vertexes and textures. Read the instructions, it creates new files that are smaller, and LOD changes to existing objects.

    My First Entry:

    Royale Bitch: Selena

    Maybe with a head shot?

    And Some more gun!

    See where i'm going with it? [I want them to slide in, from bottom, left and right]

    6 Seperate renders, 3 with full textures, 3 with no backgrounds or textures, saved as png just to capture the transparency mask so i could create clean layers when i cut them out of the full renders, that way i could layer text, graphics, extra shots etc...

    I know Mark, sometimes it can be a pain.. I still haven't learned all the resource savers either.. I get distracted. LOL

    I did a Barbarian pic which I posted a short example elsewhere here, where I set everything up in one scene and then rendered everything separately, like 20 renders, then composited them in PS. But the end result was awesome, I think.

    Thanks for chiming in with that @aftyrbyrn.

    OH, also, seeing as Aftyrbyrn posted a single character himself, I'm thinking everyones problems are solved as far as rendering 7 characters at once.

    7 at once??!?!?
    wait wait
    no
    I should have been clearer
    Just 1.

    Our fictitious company wants 7 characters, total, top 7 single character entries will be picked, then we can work on the next phase the following month. Save your renders after you post, save the scenes, I have an idea for a follow up. Please, Don't build a scene with 7 in it!!!! Lol. I should have been more specific.
