Alienware laptop i7 2.8ghz 16 ram / GeoForce GTX 1070 16
I have not purchased a PC in a very long time. It struggles a bit with high settings but basic setting are a breeze usually.Skin and character is Sahel.
Default render settings took less than a minute so I jacked everything way up and didnt want to wait . At about 10 minutes at 6% it looked like the first render at default so I stopped it.

Id re link it but i cant atm. Its on page one a few posts down. Set at 1.5 strength.
It looks like it might be from Deviantart.

March 12, 2018 at 9:39 PM #529178@bob glad to help.
I reduced the translucency 25% as suggested by Drazz.

I think the HDR maps were the freebies from DA. Can't be sure as I have that many.
Anyway back to skin and lighting.
These renders are Sahel with default skin and a HDR map. Took 3 minutes to render them.
So now you can see what an effect a simple HDR has on the skin.
No real need to mess about with lighting to get a good image IMO.*Warning, artistic nudity*

http://bit.ly/2InqaYQMarch 12, 2018 at 10:07 PM #529198Id make an HDR request but ive no idea what I want.
Ive downloaded almost every freebie google turned up.
most seem to work great and others not so much.
Have you seen a difference between free and professional?
I posted a link to several in the free section awhile ago.

No, no real difference at all, but it all depends on the scene and output you want.
Many tend to overlook some of the lighting products at DAZ, and I bet many own Iray lighting presets but don't know how to use them.
Just clicking and rendering won't give photo realistic renders.March 12, 2018 at 10:26 PM #529214I would be one of them. Ive installed a few and never used them. Mostly i use hdr or i make my own lights from planes or spheres.
if youve come across a good tutorial, feel free to pm it to me. Im open to more lighting info.
