Cleaning Out the Runtime/Library

I started out using Poser back when it first came out, then switched to Daz Studio full time around 2005.

I still have stuff in my Runtime folder and Poser and Daz libraries going back 25 years, much of which I no longer use (and some of which doesn't even work anymore). I'd like to delete it, but the delete function in Daz Studio only gets rid of the library files.

Are there any utilities that can identify and get rid of all the associated Runtime files (geometries, textures, data and support files, etc.)? Or perhaps another way?

I'm another ancient Poser user who spent years fighting with it and watching it crash and lock up every four seconds (which has nothing to do with this post but I like ranting), before graduating to Studio when it was first released.
I've gotten in the habit of making new runtime and Daz directories every few years where I install ONLY the stuff I use. I find that it's easy to get all excited over something, buy and install it, but never use it. This 'reload' keeps my files down to the bare minimum.

Hi Kayma,
I'm in the same boat, historically :), ditched Poser a long time ago.

Unless you can see from the dates on the folders that it is old Poser related, so they can simply be deleted, I would clearly recommend the procedure below.

If I were you, I would start by forgetting the old Runtime, delete it, and simply create a new Content folder. When you install new things, drag and drop directly from the ZIP folder to Content - most of them
things will work in DS via this method.

Content includes e.g. Aniblocks, Camera Presets, Characters, data, Environments, Figures, Light presets, people, props, Runtime, etc.

Hope some of it makes sense.

It is by far easier to start afresh with a new 'My Lirary' than to try & correct an old one.

Vendors can never be relied upon to use the same nomenclature / file heirarchy for their products.
