I have no idea where to post this ,so i figured I would post here.

So, I have just reinstalled Daz3d to my new hard drive and now i am re-adding everything in. Ugh. My problem has now become, when i open up Genesis 8 female, I used to get a head shot of each character installed, making it easier to figure out who is who. Now it seems like several are not there but listed under product names. How do i fix this so i don't ruin access to the character but get a head shot of each character to make it easier to see. I am, attaching link to image of my directory. As you can see, Ela, Ayla, N Olivia, just to name a few, are not there but listed under product names.

1500 points to first person who can give a correct fix 🙂

So I'm not sure but it sound like you want the head shots to show like thumbnails on the folder tree? Is so, tunnel down to the folder of the character, or right click and "go to folder", copy the picture you want and drop it one level higher, with the associated d.duf file, and most importantly, the copied files MUST have the EXACT same name as the parent folder. I actually wrote a script to do all this automatically because I reorganize my folders like mad, break clothing down by type and whatnot. If that wasn't clear
    I can elaborate

Do u want to share the script? And does it do just characters or everything? Tell me how many points u want

Yeah, I want to make the head shots appears once u click on Characters at the top root menu and still be able to drill down the structure for that characters eyes, makeup, etc

If you drop the .png without the .duf it will show in the folder tree but not the meta tree on the right. Be aware, if you drop the .duf the picture becomes clickable. You can actually use any picture you like, renders of your best, for example, although there are some dimension constraints, and can add pictures to your morph dials as well.

I tried what u suggested for Tempesta-Aurora and couldnt find a headshot or the .duf in that location

Did you restart daz, or you can click on the folder tree options box and "update known folders" or some such. The update takes a minute, there is a progress bar on the top

Don't, uh, accidentally "search drives for content" btw, you probably won't like that much

Nevermind. I figured it out with another character, georginia. I'll send your 1500 in a sec. Thanks

Sweet, so was that the issue? Don't worry about the coi I haven't done much around here to date, I was due.You can, btw, freely move clothing, characters, and poses, at least I have never had problems. It really helps with a large library.

It worksd with one but when i try it with Amie, she has no .DUF in her folder? I thought maybe she was a add-on to another character but she is a add-on to G8

On the script, it's kind of clunky and it's based in explorer, not daz so it works for other stuff. You highlight a file and fire the script and it copies the name of the current folder to the clipboard, ctl c's the file, goes up a level, ctl v's the file, then f2, paste previous folder name. It's slow, but if your still interested, it saves a ton of clicks. Honestly the hardest part is getting the folder name

There has to be a .duf sometimes on really simple toons there isn't a folder, or the folder doesn't have the primary duff, look for it one level up from it's folder. Without a .duf it's just a picture in a file. You can learn allot by opening a duf in a good text editor, or notepad. The language daz uses is pretty easy to figure out. Sorry for the verbosity, I'm really bored atm

No. Too hard lol. Its a pain just reinstalling all 250 by hand as it is. I just dont like how each product is labeled differently. it sucks.

I want mine organized and i have to go back and fix everything

Can you screen shot your explorer folder tree from her base folder, that being people/gen whatever female/characters/hensley? It's probably in the characters folder if it isn't in her folder
