I was hoping to get some help. When I load in the character they usually have their default skin, Ken Doll-ish for the guys and 'artistic nude' for the ladies.
My question, is it possible to load them in without the skins applied? My PC is in a common area with a good amount of foot traffic so having naked people hanging around while I'm tweaking the clothing isn't really ideal.
October 19, 2019 at 1:48 PM #1292578I don't think so... but you could load a blank scene and change your draw style to "hidden line" or "wireframe" before loading a character.
October 19, 2019 at 1:56 PM #1292589Technically you can. load the character, apply a bikini, export to fbx with clothing attached to skin. import the fbx, find the new skin map, save it in the same directory as the original character skin map. Rename the original character skin map by adding nude to it, then rename the newly saved one to the original name.
What should happen is that the new map will be the default from now on.Hope that helps.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot

. . .
I'll try the wire-frame thing first. Thanks for the idea though.October 19, 2019 at 6:05 PM #1292837If it's purely skin texture, maybe "Smooth shaded" would help you better in your work than "hidden line" or "wired frame". Because yes, those mode really downgrade down the shape of asset to basic line but i don't know if you'll be able to work with that without having a headache before long. Ha ha ha.
"Smooth shaded" is basicaly like working with a shopping mall mannequin. Unless even that is too much nudity for you, than the wired frame is probably your best solution until you put cloth on them.

October 19, 2019 at 10:55 PM #1293057Or you can just go to the surfaces tab and, click torso, then click the base color thumb, and go up to where it says browse and none at top and click none. it removes the mat for the torso. Done.
October 19, 2019 at 10:59 PM #1293061or you do everything and do the same thing with just surface and click the blue thumb which selects all surfaces.
