Hello ppls,
As we know the website and servers aren't for free and yet we have FREE membership to approximately BILLIONS worth of content - again FOR FREE.
I don't know that website statistics because I'm not an admin but I can say about roughly hundreds if not thousands people go on this website weekly and yet only a handful of people donate.
I wish that you all (specifically the leechers*) donate at least a $2/month so we can keep this site running. If you think about it, if just half of those thousands of website users per week were to donate only $2 per month - the bill would be paid for with no worries. Instead, the admin has to post warnings to donate and those who do donate would donate a bit more just to keep the website up. It's very unfair guys, come on. Why can't we donate? You get points when you donate - you have Bitcoin or PayPal as options, so why can't we donate even a little.
I'm just writing this message out of slight frustration. I'm not frustrated at those who upload products, donate, etc. I'm frustrated that the absolute leechers who haven't contributed at all.
Leecher - a jerk who comes on here to benefit from contributions from other users and provides nothing in return.
Hey! I'd donate every month if the payment options were expanded. I'd pay by debit card and nothing else. I'll certainly not use PayPal, and Bitcoin is nowt but a pain in the arse. So if we have an option where Debit or Credit cards are acceptable, then no problem. I'm up for it. I have a long standing adversity to PayPal and don't trust them one iota. Try getting a chargeback when you've used them as a third party, and you'll know what I mean. Nasty customer services, at least here in the UK, where they lie through their back teeth, and think everyone is a country bunkum, and don't know no better. No thank you! I'll give these plonkers a wide berth. Thank you.
If a person shares $200 worth of content there should be no need for them to pay a monthly fee.
If if a person is to paranoid to share then they can pay the fee.Again just putting it out there that people that actually share should benefit from actually sharing. People that share should get early access to content and have no need to pay for anything. I see little incentive to share AND pay when an outside source will have it up for free as soon as its posted.
Same here @Plebby. Plus the fact that I've been out of work for nearly a year. And I'm not sure what PayPal would think about transferring monies for a pirate site.
The telescope I uploaded this week (for free) costs $100 at Turbosquid, the Arri camera (also free) $62, plus I had to spend time converting to DS and fixing things. Would those count as "shares"?
If it's going to be just based of how much one shares then there'll be a flood of old rubbish, more so than already, just to meet that criteria. Think it through. You can say good bye to 90% of your points if leechers are banned or if this becomes a pay site.
I think this "honour among thieves" mentality is quite silly for a place like this. Leave it alone.I agree. Like I said, this was really targeting those who literally don't contribute anything.
I agree that PayPal is evil. You are required to sign in in order to make a complaint or question - and if it's a question regarding their policy they will investigate because they want to claim the money in your PayPal account and/or sue you.
But that shouldn't be the reason why you won't purchase via PayPal. If anything, you should be worried about PayPal sending information to authorities about your credit information and IP. Bitcoin really isn't all that complicated.
Now about leechers, I could honestly care less if 90% of points are gone because "absolute" leechers aren't contributing anything. It's better to have ZoneGfx than nothing.
All and all, I just find it annoying and simply expressing myself.
Sure it's annoying @Weebz and I don't care about points either. Maybe daily visit points should be done away with so you have to share something to get them. That would be much better IMO than the alternatives to leeching. As for money, I would if I could, if I had spare money and could do it anonymously. I'm basically broke due to covid.
I've forgotten how many times I brought up the old KAT or other torrents where people shared $1000 programs for free. Sure you had to look out for viruses but overall most Daz content was legit and nobody needed points to share.
Price isn't necessarily a bonus it was just an example. If I upload a new release that cost $15 why should I pay $20? Why not just use the $20 to buy content to share? If I pay $20 will my shares be locked here or will they be on another site in 3 seconds?
I've always and will always advocate sharing because others share. Why I haven't shared uploads here is a long and pointless story but, lets just say I use to post. I posted because I felt like I wanted to share with others that shared with me. In an odd way I felt I owed them something.
I don't dismiss people wanting to help the site financially. I think its nice they want to help. Removing the Anonymize Service and purchasing accounts to host content would be a good reason to make this a pay site. Multiple download options besides mega would be nice. Site purchasing content and giving it away as a contest reward?
I really do appreciate this site a lot too and would donate without hesitation but there's no easy way to donate anonymously. And no, donating with bitcoins isn't anonymous unless you go through a series of hops and it's tricky. Masked credit cards would do it but you have to pay for the service, like Abine Blur. I mean, I get that it costs money to run the site (I did run a community site out of my pocket for years and yeah, it piles up), but what's the point of using a disposable email + VPN to access this site and then just ask your users to "give up" their real identities for a donation? And no, I don't do illegal shit with my real name, real IP or real email address. You shouldn't either, and I'm pretty sure Hunter is well protected also. At least I hope he/she is.
Sorry but the transaction is initiated by this site, while I'm logged in with my account, and I'm pretty sure there's some log on Paypal's side and most probably linked to the transaction, so it leaves a trace. I work in IT, this shit is traceable and it's not even difficult.
Send me an email address, I'll send you money as a "gift" through Paypal even though I don't like the platform. But there's no way I'm going through this donation/"get extra points" form. And I don't care about points.
So it's definitely agreed that non-anonymous payments is a big reason why.
So, would y'all feel more comfortable using something like Monero, Zcash, DASH, and/or any other private crypto? For me, I most definitely would be.
Why crypto? I hate this useless shit and will not touch it even with a 50 feet pole. They just have to provide an email unlinked to this site and we can send money with Paypal or other platforms that allow email money transfers. I can at least pretend it's legal.
Why does it have to be complicated? If as Ethiopa already said there's already such an email, why force users to go through a webform? This whole site is already wide opened to anyone who wants to know what you shared and bought, you don't even have to be a member to see it. What else is wide opened? I'm so grateful for the site and the people providing it, but I'm just not going to assume security is a top priority here.
