If possible make the only option for bounty offers in 100s or at least 50s.
No reason to see offers of 501. Start at 500 go 550,600,650 OR. 600,700, ect...

Why though? It's time and effort for someone to change for no benefit other than making the numbers look slightly tidier...

Also, its a way to bump... I have a shit ton of request in, and when I look over my "request lists", if I see 777 I know that that is a Request that I started.... I bump em up every now and again, so will go to 888 next.
Sorry if it pisses you off, not my intention.
December 4, 2024 at 3:42 PM #2106323Bumping from 500 to 501. You know you can bump it by going down as well? If you want it so much that it needs a bump why not spend an extra 50? You get 50 FREE each day. Seems a bit ridiculous to allow people to toggle an item for +1 -1 points.
What "pisses me off" is seeing bounties for 57501 points. are you really that starve for points you can offer another 49?

If you go to your points/history you can track every points offer you made. You can also see every thread you started under forums/topics started. At one time you could track the movements of any member.

When I see a weird number I adust my points to make it a round number.
If you make it 1, I add 99December 4, 2024 at 5:57 PM #2106337Also the math involved in rounding up gives me a headache!
December 4, 2024 at 7:38 PM #2106350I rounded up a couple recently. One reason I decided to post this. Not wanting to buy something is kinda why people come here but at least give 2 fks about actually spending points. 500 is relatively low amount considering you earn that in a week doing nothing. If you're going to leach at least have a minimum of respect.

@medusa if people wanted to buy the content neither this site nor it's request system would exist.
As for the "hoping some idiot would buy it for you" - that's literally the point of the request system.
If bumping a request that wasn't taken up by users for x,000 points because they didn't think it worthwhile brings it to the attention of someone who does, great - requesters get their items, poster gets the bounty and potentially the blog post. Presumably they see a value in that or they wouldn't have filled it in the first place. Not sure how that makes them an idiot.
The one point bump is a mostly pointless exercise - in the early days of a request it might grab a few more people to join in which may tip the balance for someone to fill it, but on anything that's been around a while it'll likely not make a difference. Realistically, a 50 or 100 point bump probably wouldn't tip the scales either...
Personally I prefer to bump by 500-1000 if I'm particularly trying to get something moving. But I can honestly say it doesn't bother me in the slightest to see items getting bumped by a little bit for months (I notice a few such items were filled in the last few days) - I just keep scrolling on for either items I want to join in on or ones I might want to think about filling... Life's too short to stress about inconsequential crap online!
