Doing a render that has a beer can. Of course, the can is metallic. If I take away metallicity, there's no problem, but suddenly the beer can doesn't reflect anything like it should. Looks more like polished aluminum on the silver parts. If I don't, there's this weird black spot on the can that makes no sense given the lighting. How do you fix this?

Also, how do you fix light bouncing off a surface and seeing a bunch of right angles and squares when it should just be a natural curve.

For frame of reference, because I know it matters with Daz and Daz assets, the x access is about -1200 away from the center. I'm getting square and rectangular off a shirt curving around a dude's back in different shades and a black blob on the beer can. Ever encountered this problem?

I doubt I know but uploading a picture of whats happening would help someone that might.

I figured it out kinda. If that happens, what you do is take down the metallicity just enough to make it go away. I took it down from about 100 to about 75% and it cleared it up while still keeping enough reflectivity to look convincing, like a reflective beer can should look.

I know I'm probably just being paranoid, but since I'm doing something that's gonna be public (though not for money) I'm reluctant to attach a pic on this site, and my latest render with that beer can took an hour and a half in spite of the culling camera. That was after I hid everything that wasn't in the render and killed Daz in Task Manager before reopening and rendering. So if I was gonna attach a photo, I'd have to do a closeup that would take over an hour.

Understand the paranoia. Thanks for sharing the fix.
