Don't know where to put this but I think after @trader spot, we should chat about this ;).
Ok, one fraud product identified. What a shame but I still can't believe how majority of people don't know how this works...
1) Materials/Textures (named in Daz as SHADERS): Most of Daz products of very known vendors (I wont say any name cause don't want to harm anyone in specific) actually are the same as Adobe's Substance Source materials (untouched), Textures.me, etc. selling them as converted Daz products. Legal? well... Only work done there, the converting and calling theirselves artists when they're stealing. Happened everywhere... But not only on Daz3D, Renderosity, Renderhub, etc.
2) Same principle applied to those "brand new" Zrbush sculpted figures which basically are premade figures, tweaked and threated like new. Do you really think all those figures are carefully ZBrush sculpted? Some yes, all? Nope.
3) Same for HDRI maps for some of them are proved to be rips of HDRI Haven/Polyhaven which name changes (as a lot of crucial info).
4) Nature elements: Where to start... You know Botaniq? Grassblade? Vegetation? True terrain? Quixel Megascans decimated objects? can you spot any of those elements in some Daz products.
This world will be better with all saying the sources of everything but since 3D art world if full of wannabees and stealers, this is where we are. :/
Feel free to voice yourself about this and if this is not the right place move it or delete it.

InactiveRank:Let's not forget all those pulled stuff from Daz lately, especially the shaders. I guess they are happy selling them until the original creators recognize their work and make a fuss.
We're not innocent in the scene since we do pirate stuff, but making money out of it is a big no no for me.April 28, 2022 at 9:40 pm #1801426I'm less concerned about the stolen assets (except for feeling bad about those who buy the assets only to find out it's a ripoff), and more concerned with how much broken shit gets the go ahead for release from Daz.
April 29, 2022 at 1:02 am #1801480Does anyone know why Daz took down BA Marian HD And Her DForce Clothes?

InactiveRank:@frank22 Could be a bug, there's another Marian for G8 so they might have clashed and it was pulled to fix the references.

I got nothing but respect for the straightforward digital piracy crowd. You know up-front what a pirate is about, with no BS - they'll even tell you where they got the thing from, and share it without demand for cash.
Now the ones who wink-and-nod while stealing something from you (Coin-mining sites that maxed your CPU and GPU while you surfed their site - anyone remember having to block those? If not, let's talk about Rapidgator, Katfiles, Uploaded, and all those sites that throttle you down to 56k modem speeds and 2-hour wait times unless you pay for "premium" access...) Lots of bad eggs out here on the Dark Side (because who are you gonna complain to about it?). When you add on malware and the endless parade of dark-side scammers? Well, let's just say that Port Royal ain't a safe town after dark, me mateys. But most of you knew that already, amirite?
The scum I have no respect for are, as mentioned, the scammers who went white-collar. Many are respected and long-time PA's at DAZ, Renderosity, Renderhub, etc. All these companies know full well that in these latter times, at least half of their consigned stuff isn't "original" by any means, that a large percentage of it rips off copyright, trademark, and design patent.
The sellers ain't so innocent either. Thanks to the DMCA Safe Harbor, they are the pinnicale of scam. They can make a pretty penny while maintaining an air of purity - you see, as long as the IP owners don't find the offending items and file complaints, they can keep selling... and 'honest injun we're only innocent brokers! we got a ToS and everything!', so they don't really have to give refunds or pay restitution once caught - unlike the now-banned "artists" (not that I have any respect for them either - they deserve what they get).
Me? I pirate. Done so for years. Don't care. To my meager credit, at least I never ripped anyone off, nor taken their hard-earned money for work I'd never done, unlike, well, you know.
