I've only been working with Genesis 9 for a little while, and only in scenes very light on resources. For the past week I have decided to integrate one of those Genesis 9 characters to a heavy scene, seeing as I'm fortunate enough to have a good computer. There I have decided I wanted to change his attire, and chose one from my Genesis 8. For each piece of clothing, autofit has been taking as long as half an hour and it's really getting on my last nerve, as I know the problem doesn't stem from my hardware. It gets stuck at 22%, then at 72%, then it eventually decides it's good. Anybody's been having this issue? Let's say I'm tempted to just say FU to Genesis 9 altogether, as I've never had any problems with autofit whatsoever with any other figures.

September 10, 2025 at 1:11 AM #2144570Just gonna toss out a issue I found that was screwing me up that may/may not be affecting autofit.
I had a hair fitted on a figure that screwed up just about everything I tried. Deleted it and it went away.
If that's not it, I'd look for an invisible morph that may be dialed.
Also also I've resized a figure once. I was going to do a giant vs a normal. It was better to increase the figure than decrease it. It didn't like shrinking for some reason.
That's the extent of my limited knowledge and experience.

September 10, 2025 at 4:00 AM #2144580Alright checked all those and they don't appear to be the sources of the problem. Just tried a G8 in a clone of that scene and auto-fit is fine. I found a solution, which I find counterproductive, and it is to load the clothes that need to go through auto-fit on a remote G9 in an empty scene, save them as wearable, load the scene, and apply them. That means I have to cross my fingers that I won't have to try too many clothes in the scene. It's like going to the store Vs buying online: I end up keeping the clothes even if I hate them because I don't want to go through the hassle of sending them back and reordering.
September 10, 2025 at 12:16 PM #2144621imo, 8.1 is great. 8 is just good. And for what it's worth, G9 is more realistic out of the box than either 8 or 8.1. It takes some fiddling to make the G8 line as realistic as G9. Still, I rarely use G9 and almost all my renders use G8.1
September 10, 2025 at 1:45 PM #2144625G9 is only more realistic when it comes to female characters. I mainly use males, and up until recently, most of them looked like Da'an in Earth: Final Conflict. And don't get me started with the joints that make them look like they are made of rubber. Gotta be very careful when bending them.
