Sometimes there is no solution other than fear of consequences and a negative stigma. Not everyone can be fixed. Not everyone wants to be fixed. Part of the problem with our society is that it insulates reckless people from concequences. Often it even rewards bad behavior. The "more important" people are, the more insulated they are from consequences. And they would be just fine with normalizing tons of awful behaviors for the sake of their own safety from consequences. As long as they can deflect, point to lesser sins, and they still get to boss the rest of us around.

Ah yes, 7 years ago, someone indulged in the ultimate “guilty pleasure” of eating a bat, and naturally, the entire world had to shut down.

That's the most never happened thing that never happened. I mean the bat narrative. I don't believe for a second that what we all had to endure came from a wet market. And even if it did, that's China's problem if they didn't deal with whoever allegedly "ate a bat". Which I'm completely skeptical about because there are still probably people in China eating bats, scorpions, pangolins, and a bunch of other weird things.
