Art Contest - Calendar Girls

Alright, I think I'm going to jump on the contest bandwagon - mainly because I want to see what you guys can come up with 🙂

So the theme of the contest is "Calendar Girls".

The rules are as follows:

• 2 entries per person
• 1 entry per month
• This means you can enter one image for February and one for June for example
• Your entries must state which month they're for
• Entries must be the following image size: 1920x1200
• All entries must be SFW (safe for work)
• Closing date for entries is 15th of January 2018 at midnight GMT

Prizes at this stage:

1 winner per month
1000 points for each winner

If anyone else wants to throw some points in the pot, send me a PM. If enough points come in, we may also see second and third place prizes but I unfortunately don't have enough points at this stage to throw in more than 12000 so every month gets a prize.

Voting will be from the 15th of January to the 22nd of January 🙂

Looking forward to seeing what exciting images come in.

With the awesome Tomsk doubling the prize pool to 24000 (!!!) points:

1st place for each month: 1200 points
2nd place for each month: 500 points
3rd place for each month: 300 points

More points = 2nd and 3rd place prizes go up to 2/3 and 1/3 of first prize, then the whole lot will be able to increase.

Do you want the month on the image ? or just say what month its for.

Can be either, but I would like a fairly clear thematic link between the month and the image. Such as Christmas and December, Valentine's and February, Halloween and October, etc etc.

Call me jaded or even suspicious but can I ask if you're planning on doing anything with this artwork you're commissioning from people @nemain? The image size is rather specific and obviously the format and themes are as well, do you plan to collate these images into a calendar for any particular purpose?

Not planning on doing anything with it, I just like to challenge people to larger image sizes rather than smaller ones. The most I would do is have them as desktop backgrounds and admire the awesome work that people do.

If you guys want me to remove the image size requirement, I can do so but I feel it makes the contest easier as people can choose to have a smaller space to fill.

And the calendar idea is a combo of the new year coming up and watching a Victoria's Secret show where they did something similar

At least make it a 16x9 requirement so that the standard is for wide screen monitors. That's what i like to render in, that way it fits.

16x9 sounds good... so let's change it to that 🙂

so 16x9 ratio resolution..that way they can still be used as awesome desktop backgrounds, they're still on the larger side and it gives peeps a bit more freedom 🙂
