There has to be a better analogy than a haunted hamster wheel.
I'm all ears, and eyes 🙂
When I see stuff like that, it's usually an indication of the feds allowing it so they can just keep stacking copyright violations, and log every IP that visits. Just sayin.
I agree. This could be yet another takeover by the Fed.
Soon there won't be any pirate sites IMO.September 10, 2026 at 9:27 PM #2187364is there enough money at stake here for that? None of the asset vendors would have the financial clout of the big studios that are normally behind site take-overs??
September 10, 2026 at 9:32 PM #2187365DAZ does have something powerful behind them, the Mormon Church (because Utah)
September 11, 2026 at 1:27 AM #2187376There's something much deeper at play here. It's not just them going after copyright violations. Over the years, hackers, piracy groups, and things like torrent, or even shadow libraries have been the only things that get by the absolute control of information exchange. Which are open to the free flow of communication by whatever means.
First they co-opted the hackers by giving most of them jobs with the NSA and other intelligence gathering agencies. Then they went after piracy and torrenting hard to put a stop to things they don't control. Now they've gone after archive dot org and basically gutted it, causing a group of people to move a lot of literature over to sites where anyone can download free copies. Which happened when archive scrubbed all of that from their site and limited viewing of digital books to the disabled only. As if nobody else in the digital age has a right to read freely available books.
So they're going after low hanging fruit. Something that's just prolific enough to be a copyright infringement concern, but not a large enough user base (compared to movies or TV shows) to get any serious pushback. They are testing their methods for discovering and shutting down these alternate means of sharing information. They don't want anything off the radar. They want to be able to track and trace every single thought, text, verbal communication, video, movement, transaction on the platforms they have ordained as the only avenues for interaction on the web. Anything outside their captured highways, are deemed as a threat that must be stopped so nobody outside of those conduits can spread any information they don't like at all. Not just some boosted video games.
But they're playing a losing game because the more they clamp down, the more creative the people who bypass their control become. Privacy groups are light years ahead of the federal behemoth because they've already seen where this is going. The more people the officials p1ss off, the more people decide to color outside of the lines on purpose. That's just human nature.
And the question nobody wants to look at is: what do authoritarians historically do when the majority of people decide it's in their best interest to flaunt "the law" that says privacy is only for the people in control and not the people in general? Well, then they clamp down more, and in proven cases, they start to eliminate people in large numbers beause they can't otherwise control them. Dead men tell no tales.
September 11, 2026 at 1:32 AM #2187378guess its over for the little one
September 11, 2026 at 9:28 AM #2187426Seems like the website was made with WordPress like this website, and something has been added that is preventing regular visitors from accessing part of the website. That's probably why this is happening right now.
I can't say for sure whether the website owner did this on purpose, whether it was added by someone else, or whether the website was compromised. But it looks like access has been restricted somehow.
September 11, 2026 at 10:41 AM #21874343DLoad is still working fine.
September 11, 2026 at 11:27 AM #2187443@podda12 that must explain why it went down prior to all of this. and the owner adding more content is probably so it doesn't get behind. like if this would take over a week, and content is added around every 2-3 days, then it would cause the owner to make links for so much more content than normal, which would cause it to more behind and it'll just get so tiring just trying to keep up that the owner wold just quit in the end.
September 11, 2026 at 11:48 AM #2187447Just checked and SC is still working and it seems to have almost all the stuff that RS has.

September 11, 2026 at 12:41 PM #2187454Piracy, in one form or another, has been a thing for thousands of years.
It is part of the baser drives of the human race.
I don't think it will stop anytime soon.
🙂

Just an FYI - the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (and similar, depending on your home country) only gets involved in copyright issues if you're actually selling pirated stuff for money. Giving away pirated stuff (w/o money involved) demotes it to a civil matter, so the feds stop caring about it at that point. They also don't tend to go after websites hosted in foreign nations over DMCA stuff.
September 11, 2026 at 3:21 PM #2187474I would have agreed with you a few years ago. Sadly TPTB are hell bent on controlling every corner of the internet with rules and regulations. To protect the children of course...
