I wanted my character to adjust their glasses and couldn't for the life of me remember how I did it (I've been using contacts the last few years). So, I got up and walked across the house to grab my sunglasses and let muscle memory do the work.
Just now I was struggling with the same character crossing her arms. I was like, if I can cross my arms she can cross hers. So, I did it... Turns out I cross my arms over the top of my boobs, not under and never realized 😅

LOL! I do the same, especially when I want to pose hands resting on something (like on waist or face) and legs. Sometimes a preset of a seated don't touch the ground or it touches WAY too much (half the leg inside the ground), so I have to pose it myself and I think "How do my legs look when the seat is too high to touch the ground?".

Yesterday I had to hold a cup of tea just to see how my hands look, so I could copy it to my character.

Yep, I do that all the time when posing figures, hands, arms, legs etc. And it goes the other way too- RL to 3D. I look at real-life things, particularly interior and exterior lighting, and wonder how I could recreate it in 3D. "My partner bent over the other day and I unconsciously reached for the dial to turn down the glutes" [old 3D joke].
