Mine has been acting up for the past few months, and it's gotten really bad lately. I almost went a bought a new one to replace it... $$1200 still??? i loved my 1080TI. But no way i forking that money out again.

Fortunately I was telling a friend about it and they told me Gigabyte has a built in 3 year warranty. Duh! I forgot! So, I filled out the warranty info and got it approved for an RMA. Hopefully a quick turn around, but i'm looking at 2 to 3 weeks with no GPU 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 I have just put the card in it's velvet lined, bubble wrap, static body bag cardboard coffin and dropped it off the UPS store and shipped it back.

I don't know how anyone with out dedicated GPUs can even render, i just tried it with my onboard, for the first time in years, and wow... wtf. I forgot it could take hours to render, not minutes. I really hope that the prices come down.

The last GPU I got was a 1070 8G from Gigabyte, cost me around 300 if I remember correctly.
It is dedicated solely for rendering, don't even have a monitor connected to it. My last render on it took over three hours, and it was only 78% when I stopped it. Can't imagine how long my laptop would have struggled with it...probably DAYS...

I cooked a Gigabyte 980TI a couple of years ago. It actually went out with some smoke, no joke. They replaced that one with a 1080 because they couldn't repair it. You shouldn't have problems with their RMA department, they are good but sometimes a bit slow.

No problem with my 2 EVGA 1080TI so far.

GOod to hear... i bought 1660 Ti to hold me over while i'm waiting, i'll probably give to my daughter to replace her 970 when i get the 1080 back. the 1660 Ti is nooo where near the capabilities of the 1080 Ti, but i can at least game again.

NOOOOOOOO.... Damn... That sux. I hope you at least had some good BBQ sauce on it.

I love my EVGA 1070. It was less than a year ago I was on a 630 so I remember the molasses renders all too well.

Just bought me a TITAN RTX video card and it has a 3 year warranty. The card gets hot so I use MSI Afterburn and it controls the heat issue well.

which Titan!?!?! OMG. How fast is it? I think it's like twice as fast as my 1080Ti at least. @creationz

It is 24 GB RTX and really fast. I had to upgrade my PSU to a minimum 1000 gold +. Iray updates instantly and I can render very large images from Daz. Well worth the $2,500 price tag.

Very nice @Kre@tionz Had my eye on one of those but sadly my pocketsd were not deep enough to cover the cost - 4400 AUD. Updgraded to a Asus Strix 2080ti OC so cannot complain too much.

But the T-Rex is still on my radar.

I'm still bimbling along quite nicely on my old GTX 690.
It might be a few generations old, but it still performs well.

Thought only I who still use 600 series, i'm stuck with 610 lol. rendering is slow and long but there nothing post-processing can't fix

Well, with it being the '90 of the series, it still kicks ass pretty good.

@aftyrbyrn/ Don't give up a kidney. You can live with only one. I know. I had one removed because I had cancer. But if I'd only had one, I'd be screwed. Now I have to to treat it with special care because I can't afford to lose it.
