Is anyone else having problems with anomize. my virus protection will not let me access the links from it, it claims its a virus threat and that also includes my own link which I know don't have viruses.

Of course it claims it's a threat, it simply doesn't "play by the rules". The "rules" of course being set by the Good Ol' Boys club of internet infrastructure... the same ones who graciously bring you the tools to be "safe"...

I'll get off my soapbox now. Do whatever you're comfortable with. Anomize is legit, even if a minor PIA.

    The non-conspiratorial answer.
Anti-virus companies are increasingly working with software and content companies to try and limit access to sites and services that MIGHT be complicit in illegal downloading. The anonimizing service falls in this category, along with lots of other legitimate services. I use the free version of AVG and it's been doing this more and more for several years now. I get warnings about 'possible threats' that make it sound like the site is horrible, evil and will give me cancer. Bunkrr.ru and it's variants lights AVG up like a Christmas tree. I just shut it off for the half hour I need to get whatever it is I'm interested in.
These days the biggest threat is from social media scams. I usually find that pirate sites are the safest because pirates are usually highly aware of the evil that lurks, and are quick to sound the alarm for real threats.

    That's really "non-conspiratorial" :p

    ...but true.

Also, try to drop AVG, it's hot garbage. May as well use Clam AV or Panda. Virtually all AV products are dysfunctional these days. 90% of all attacks now occur through social engineering like email/SMS phishing and clickbaiting, not payload malware, like the good old days.
