Greetings fellow travellers, Have a question regarding the most recent 4.22 update and the registered plugin Animate2. The recent training video posted to the blog focusing on Animation (which is your standard Daz level training quality (just an FYI)) prompted me to do a bit more digging to see if 4.22 added any noticeable improvements to what is always a wholey frustrating experience working with the time line. digging through the changelogs I really only see some minor references to fixing a couple bugs, but nothing that makes me think there are new features or any improved usability. So probably sticking with 4.21 for the foreseeable future. That being said, there was one thread here that made note that the upgrade to 4.22 disabled Animate2, so this inquiry is really for the future when something more tempting than just ghost lights is included in an upgrade.

My question is to get a larger sample from the greater population, can anyone else confirm if the upgrade disabled the ability to use Animate2 or if that was a one off fluke experience. Will have to weigh the benefits of any future upgrades. Not that I love animating in Daz anyway, but anything that makes it even worse by removing the minor benefits of the animation plugins would be a BIG minus. Thank you for your time.

I'm seeing people bitching about this in the official Daz forums. It sounds to me that folks aren't happy there either.
Except for that Dartanbeck clown that's mostly trying to plug his own (probably horrible) animation tutorial.

    Here it is....

It's made with that idiot, Digital Art Live, well known for mind blowingly horrible presentations.

    Works fine for me

I agree. I've learnt lot of things from him but he really need to do learn some editing skills. If you're gonna sell a product, at least make some effort. I don't want to hear unnecessary stuff, just cut straight to the important bit.

Doing animation in D|S is asking for pears from an elm... Better think about Maya/MotionBuilder or Cascadeur. If it is already tedious to do it in professional programs dedicated to animation, I can't even imagine doing a simple sit in a chair.
The quickest thing would be to use pieces of mocap and put them together into a Frankenstein monster...
Or have a mocap suit... 😀

Any Public BETA/Animate2 users care to sound off on this?
I've done the update to 4.22 Pro (Win-64) and can say that Animate2 is working fine here. That is to say my green check mark is still ticked, don't ever really find myself using it. Haven't read the DAZ forum on this bug but they do publish at least 4 unique versions of each update (Win 32-bit, Win 64-bit, the 2 public *BETA* versions of each and lord knows how many private betas).
Sort of curious to know if any beta users with 4.22 have experienced the loss of Animate2. Or, if someone wants to take one for the team, you could fire up a beta install? See what happens.
