I'm not sure if this has been considered or brought up before, but I've noticed there's still a lot of posts with image missing, and seeing as how there's an incentive for fixing dead or duplicate posts, could there possibly be one for updating images? Wouldn't have to be a lot, maybe 25 points per post, but it's just another thing that would help requests with people having more points to share. Just a thought.
That requires admin access to edit.
There are some admin folk working on that, but it is such a large job it is taking a long time.

As eelgoo said, there are a handful of people who are working towards the goal of fixing the broken images.
