I have seen amazing, really beautiful pieces. The fact, that AI steals from other images is what pisses me off. You can't take credit for someone else's hard work and claim it as your own, no matter how beautiful the piece is.

A very clear answer. Ai is a huge shit. The more I see it. The more I hate it.

My take on it is that although the end product may be appealing, there is no real sense of acheivement because your only input is a selection of words.

As a pirate, I have no room to talk, but I don't like that it's trained on copyrighted data. I also don't like that results are non-reproducible and inconsistent. I also feel like we're likely to get laws soon intended to reign in most of the fun uses of AI.

As someone whose job prospects post-college were already pretty dismal, I'm increasingly unhappy with its use in the business world as well.

I feel that AI is absolutely, positively amazing and wonderful and the bestest thing to come along in like forever. I'm blown away by how fast it's advancing as we learn how to use it. The number of superb and free Loras is staggering and it continues to grow. I'll be adding my own to the collection soon too. I'm watching several extensions that will take the grunt work out of imaging. Stuff like real noise removal, object removal (or addition) and face replacement. Intelligent sharpening...there's a BIG one.

, have you thought about the trades? Our local colleges are seeing an influx of young women in trades like plumbing, electrical, carpentry etc. We can't get enough people to build stuff and women are taking up the challenge, and doing damned good at it too. I know a contractor who has a bunch of ladies working for him and they've taken to calling themselves the 'Lipstick Crew'. When an area is finished and inspected it gets a stamp with the name of the crew and a number. The girls had a 'lip' stamp made and when the inspector passes their work, they add their own lip stamp to it in red. It's become a game of oneupmanship with the traditional male crews and a point of pride. There's now a small landscaping company in town called 'Lipstck Landscaping'. They're crazy busy and do excellent work.

I find it mostly fascinating. AI is a burgeoning realm of possibility to me. Contrary to the fearful and cautious overtones put out by many blogs and media, I interpret AI engines as interesting, enhanced, nearly-seemingly-autonomous partners in artistic endeavor.

No, but seriously, I don't see it as the threat or thief that it's made out to be. People were sampling music in the 70s in order to make entire genres which wouldn't be possible today without such "nefarious activity". Maybe all of us that find AI as a positive will regret it one day, with Will Smith fighting off the hordes single-handedly. But in the meantime it's, I dunno, kind of neat.
I mean, say what you want, but our overlords sure do paint, sing, write, compose, play, code, and chat good.

@ethiopia I have some health issues that make physically demanding jobs not feasible for me. Truth be told I'll probably be fine but I have a lot of friends who will not be.

I feed https://picso.ai/create daily with some input. It has its limitations and looks odd sometimes but it is much faster than any render. So I use and like it to generate images. I don't have high expectations so I'm often happy with the result even if some parts of the image clearly look bad (or generated by a bad AI).

If I had more time I'd setup a scene in Daz3D and render it as I really like to compose things on my own.

if you try to use the one most are made off of stable diffusion, its a mess there's around 15 different things that you can change that will change your image completely so it can take a infinite amount of time to get what you want. It seems completely random on how these different variables affect the prompt. The prompt themselves can also be random as the ai might ignore some words if you have to many or don't understand some. honestly I think it would be faster to hire someone to or learn to create the image yourself. it can be fun to just make some random stuff but in my opinion its not worth it to use for anything above that.

"Do You Like It Or Hate It" Why set up a false dichotomy? I use both DS and SD and I don't particularly love or hate either. They're just a means to an end.
Besides, SD can do many things that DS can't 😛😛😛😛.
