Hello all,
This message to let you know that I will be offline for a few days starting today 11 pm (UTC + 11 New Caledonia time).
I'm taking a flight back to France for a surgical intervention on my neck. It appears that C5 and C6 are not quite in the correct axis and need a little encouragement to behave themselves!Living on a small island in the Pacific Ocean, we don't have the specialized surgeons for that kind of operation, thus the plane back.
I'll be in surgery next Monday at 8 am (UTC + 1 French time) and probably in hospital for a couple of days with limited to no access to the internet. After that I'll stay at my mother's house for a couple of weeks and will have plenty of time to catch-up with you all before taking a plane back home.

I flew back to France last Friday, arrived Saturday, entered hospital on Sunday, surgery on Monday and I was out on Wednesday, done!
Brand new vertebral disc on C5, no more osteoarthritis and in 8 weeks I’ll be good to go back home.
Until then, I have the voice of the Canadian singer called "Garou" (very deep and rocky), a cervical collar the size of the James Web Telescope antennae and enough medicine to stone a small town's population. Oh and... a strict "no no" to practice young men's sports from now on... no more kite-surfing, no more horse riding and motorbike allowed only on roads. I guess I'm getting old for good 🙂I'm staying at my mother's for the upcoming weeks and very much look forward Christmas over there which hadn't happened in years now. My wife and girls are at home but will spend Christmas with friends. And of course, the single suitcase I took on the way in will "magically" turn into a pair on the way out 🙂
@corbeau : tu as raison, il y a des équipes très capables à Nouméa, mais pas en neuro-chirurgie avancée comme était recquis pour mon cou. Et c'était moins onéreux de me renvoyer en France que de faire venir un chirurgien spécialisé 🙂Talk to you soon, in here or on the Discord and I might add that... i missed you all
