I was browsing about on Youtube and came across this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a8d6p-E4KSE about textures and materials for CG. This guy has some brilliant videos/information on his channel that I think some people will find interesting and I don't know what it is but I really like his voice. It's a real change from some of the dodgy "instructional" videos I've seen.
Has anyone else got any other artist resources on youtube or other platforms that they could share?

Now we could do with something like this in DS for 3DL & IRay.

May 26, 2018 at 3:42 PM #618758I just watched a video he made about making HDRi maps and it was very informative.
I've watched a channel for BlenderGuru https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOKHwx1VCdgnxwbjyb9Iu1g and he's pretty good too but I've never used Blender before and don't get "everything" he's talked about. And every Daz tutorial I've ever watched either sounds like the person is talking in the bathroom or eating something.
May 26, 2018 at 11:27 PM #619111I really like TheWPGuru/Jay Versluis's Daz videos. He's really well spoken, easy on the ears, and has good production. IIRC he overcame a bout of cancer recently, which is why he hasn't made a ton of videos as of late. But he's definitely worth watching, esp. since his videos are free.
May 27, 2018 at 11:33 AM #619688Ooooh @notenoughrupees The WP Guru is a good shout. This video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ged71iQ10ZA came up straight away when I went to his channel and it seems pretty informative, talking about lighting a figure in Daz studio Iray from one side.
I've watched a few videos from Sickleyield that have been informative but again, on the lower end of the quality spectrum compared to what I like to see. https://www.youtube.com/user/SickleYield/videos
I prefer reading through her blog posts on her DA page but sometimes it's nice to be shown.
Any other sources out there that anyone wants to share?

May 28, 2018 at 2:29 PM #620975That's a great resource Jason. He's good at explaining the hidden shapes within composition, although I only skipped through it seems good.
