I remeber a friend of mine buying " Radio activiteit" by Kraftwerk.
he went back to the shop twice because there was a "tic" in the record, and it seemed the needle got stuck. Turned out the first song starts with a Geiger counter slowly picking up speed..
    tik.....tik....tik...tik..tik.tik.tik.tik 😀

I'm a Moody Blues fan, among other things. Their first seven albums, plus Long Distance Voyager, were incredible. Then, the lead singer stopped dropping acid and they all decided to go commercialized in the 80s. Everything from the album "The Other Side of Life" on was just not the same. The two remaining band members still tour solo. Justin Hayward admits he still does weed and puts out decent material; has a great show so if he lands in your area - go! John Lodge was the one who claims he never did drugs, but there are some early photos of him where he looks totally stoned.

I'm seeing John in July at the local Civic Center theater. He's very funny and still talented af.

One of the most underrated song writers of all time....

"You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out, Jim"

Who can write songs about a cannibal serial killer or a headless, thompson-machine-gun-toting ghost and make them catchy?

I loved....😍...really, trulio loved the movie 'Heavy Metal' when it came out in 1981. I'd bought and read every issue of the magazine and the movie brought the pages to life. For some reason it popped into my head a few weeks so I downloaded it, turned the lights down, donned my studio headphones and cranked them up.
Wow.....have we moved on in 42 years. The music was still great but the graphics where underwhelming. I didn't even watch the whole thing and deleted it. My memories are better.

I saw @ulysses "Lawyers, Guns And Money" and I raise him "Werewolves Of London" by the same artist. That vinyl was in my parents collection and they played it on week-ends while I was playing with my toy cars, following the living-room carpet motives pretending they were roads...

It's only years and years later that I understood what he was singing and ... making werewolves sexy 🙂

And... since we are in the nostalgia mood, I'd like to talk about Didier Marouani, a French composer, pioneer of electronic music who founded a band named "Space".

Probably his most well know track is the following one : "Magic Fly"

But the 3 that I link after are way way better.
This gives me goose bumps when I play them because they are attached to so much childhood memories! I was 5 when that album was released in 1977 and my parents used to play this album as well. I'm so fond of this album that I have it on vinyl in a safe at the bank and on my phone as daily alarm clock music (the track called Prison).

    Happy listening

....and how could we forget this timeless jem...

There was theatre in the city that played it at midnight on Saturdays. Most of us dressed up for it and I ALWAYS went as Dr.Frank-n-Furter. The girlfriend who would later become my wife got a great laugh out of it when I dressed up in the stockings and basque.

The past makes me nostalgic and nostalgia make me feel kinda sad so I try to live in the present.

Yeah the animation isn't great but I enjoy the mini stories and the music. Lots of times I just put a movie in as back-round noise. I'm hoping one day "The Wall" will get remastered. Lots of people today are all about how amazing Avatar 2 looks ect.. but I'm rarely impressed with yet another green screen CGI movie. Impress me with a good story and great acting. Thats more hard to come by now than pixels. Im trying to find time to watch "Puss in Boots: Last Wish" since I heard its decent story.

My 2 yr old likes the into

Rammstein, I like. Eisbrescher and KMFDM, I like even more. It's a great bit wonderful rabbit hole from there.

I spent my teens listening to a lot of rock hair-metal; Bon Jovi, GnR, Poison, Def Leppard, Thunder, Little Angels etc, and saw Bon Jovi, Megadeath, Billy Idol, Thunder and Little Angels live.

The track that always gets my blood pumping though is AC/DC's Thunderstruck. Unfortunately it's also the track that is at least partly responsible for me getting two speeding tickets, and for me riding like an absolute idiot, back when I still had enough hair to pull off the long haired biker look.

In my home town there was a roundabout that was pretty for getting your knee down (any bikers here will know what I mean). As long as you had the guts/lack of common sense to tip the bike in and hang of the side you could do a full circuit or three with your knee slider on the tarmac and your head inches from the crash barrier. I spent many early Sunday mornings dragging my knee with earbuds screwed into my ears and my CD Walkman blasting Thunderstruck at full volume.
