DazSculptorHD is an add-on that runs on Blender 2.8x to customize the shape of DazStudio Genesis8 figures freely. In the same series, we also released a free add-on called DazSculptorFree, but this was limited to a morph creation subdivision level of 0 (about 16,000 vertices).
However, with DazSculptorHD, you can sculpt freely by choosing from about 16,000 (Subdiv0), 65,000 (Subdiv1), 260,000 (Suvdiv2), 1.05 million (Subdiv3), and 4.15 million (Subdiv4) vertices.
It is also possible to sculpt at high resolution and output at low resolution, such as sculpting with Subdiv4 and outputting with Subdiv1.
In addition, the normal map of the whole body can be burned at once with the push of a button.
Therefore, while reducing the mesh subdivision level from high resolution to low resolution to reduce the operation, it is possible to maintain the appearance of the actual figure at high resolution.
This makes it easy to handle high resolutions even if you are not a Daz3D publishing artist. Of course, if you are a Daz3D publishing artist, you can apply high resolution directly to figure morphs.
Please note the following points.
・There is no distinction between DazSculptorFree’s shape key mode and edit (edit) mode.
All are unified in edit mode.
・The burned-up normal map may need to be partially corrected using image editing software.
