The Byzantine style was formed under the influence of both European and Asian countries. The system of arched structures was borrowed from the Greco-Roman culture, and the Byzantines borrowed colorful and bright decor from their eastern neighbors. At the same time, plain simple furniture was used in the Byzantine interior: a simplified version of Roman household furnishings.
