this is my first creation in Daz using 2 other 3D software as a base and generating this character with Daz material (the bra, the wings and the pose)

October 22, 2018 at 1:57 PM #812247yes I noticed that just when u use IRAY render I think I need to change the material type in the surface tab from skin to something else.....thanks
October 22, 2018 at 10:17 PM #812776ive noticed this on almost every conversion from poser. I cant remember the exact setting name but its an easy click to get rid if it. Probably gloss or metal ect... cant remember.
Might be at the top also. Base figure listed as plastic or something.
October 25, 2018 at 8:51 PM #816505@d0gg0d I did some conversion from poser but got stuck in the rig...this one isn't converted from poser it's from Blender but maybe the degree of smoothness I gave it in Blender (adding a high level of subdivision)caused this ...I'll see to it when I have some time and I don't think it should be difficult to fix I hope...
October 26, 2018 at 2:54 PM #817394@d0gg0d your first message was really simple and to the point: glossiness, so I just reduced the glossiness from 100 to 50 percent

(assuming IRAY uber base past this point)
for the skin you can also adjust the settings under glossy roughness and reflectivity (if base mixing is set to metalicity/roughness) or glossy specular and glossyness (base mixing specularity/glossyness)to get that sort of light glow to the skin where light strikes through an edge (like when you shine a torch through your hand you get that red colour)
add a small amount of translucency and try the setting with scatter and transmit,
best results when you also have sub surface settings on further down (thin walled off)
I don't have any solid advice on what colours/levels of the settings to use though as their interplay can be a bit strange sometimes (play around until you like it)looking at skins other people have made and turning settings on/off or tweaking them is also a pretty good way to figure out what sort of effect they have on the skin shader.
