I didn't want to gum up, throw off, confuse, the film noir voting thread, so I'm posting separately.
I'm actually really disappointed in myself in regards to my entry. I don't like to look at others entries prior to posting my own, so as to keep my brain from being influenced by anothers work. Unfortunately it failed me this time. Its the case of, "Woulda-Shoulda-Coulda".
My ORIGINAL idea was tossed, thrown out, pitched to the curb like a new car with a full ashtray. I became distracted when she entered my studio. I don't normally let dames affect me, but this one, aside from having gams that reached to the moon, this one injected me with her poison right off the bat, and spun her web around me on the first render.
I see now that my originality was lost and I did the same as others had done. I betrayed myself and fell victim to the Black Widow.
Moral: Listen to yourself. Your first instinct is most often times correct.
March 13, 2018 at 7:44 PM #530426It (you) would only be an epic noir failure if you never come back.
Without going all religiously ( and/or non-religiously) I'll state two of my motivators:1) confession is good for the soul
2) denial, anger, bargaining, depression.... oh, Acceptance. That's the one.
Good work Dragon. Sadly, I cannot vote because of my utter weakness to be bias towards any form of art with a picture with a Female Asian character; such as "Kicked to the Curb" and "Microphone". Don't get me wrong, I'd be unfair to @d0gg0d and @greym.
They've done an extraordinary job as you have with your work of art.
But as my username implies - Loco Lolo.
Everything appears to be going nice. birds singing in the background. sun shining.
Out of no where, a cutie like on @d0gg0d or @greym characters would distract my train of thought. Next thing you know, I'm in love once again but not noticing them slipping something in my drink.
All of the sudden I'm waking up with some lady(?) that resembles the futanari-looking character on the pool table of "The Devil’s Den” by @jbuckland1984 ; asking myself three questions,
- I pretty sure we had sex, but did I marry that?
- Why is me bum hurting?
- Did she spell her name Lola. L- O, L - A. Lola as in the Kinks song?Yup, the story of my life. As the name implies. Thanks for restoring my faith in why this site kicks ass.
March 13, 2018 at 8:09 PM #530453Im never100% happy with my renders. I think you had entered a solid piece.
March 13, 2018 at 8:28 PM #530488@drgnmztr Same here, after posting i was like i should have...
but the same for my voting i gave my scores than after i thought i should have...March 13, 2018 at 8:51 PM #530539we learn by mistakes. Im suprised at so many high scores.
saving feelings or making friends. I expected to be average to slightly above average and that seems to be the case.
I did not expect to see a row of 7s and 8s all the way down the line. Im usually a harsh critic though. who knows?
March 13, 2018 at 8:59 PM #530546Thanks for your comments.
I'm happy with my piece. I just failed at being original since I didn't view the other entries and did a similar piece.
It was a lesson learned.March 13, 2018 at 9:09 PM #530552look at the pirate contest and see how alike they are and nobody saw others renders. My second thought was ice pirates, third was the girl. First though was a zombie pirate but thats been way over done.
March 13, 2018 at 9:13 PM #530558@d0gg0d It was an awesome contest with a lot of good pieces.
I've always had a soft spot for older movies, growing up with them and all.
Love Jimmy Stewart, James Cagney, Bogart, Grant.
The list is quite extensive.March 13, 2018 at 9:15 PM #530559I saw coolcats entry and am now the proud owner of a Dragon ship. 🙂
March 13, 2018 at 9:57 PM #530581Comparing ourselves as artists, to other artists, becomes the theif of joy. Comparing often leads to negativity (said in my best yoda voice) and the stunting of your own creativity.
Follow your own path -- but borrow. Something inspires you? A photo? A pose? A costume? A drawing? Borrow the idea. Put some credit somewhere if you want, but make sure to put your own stamp of ideas to it, too.
Comparison becomes an energy, inspiration, creation theif. Do and learn and create at your own pace. <3
March 13, 2018 at 9:59 PM #530584Also, to add on--see if you can find your VERY FIRST render, if possible, or your oldest. Compare it to where you are now. :3 I bet you will be pleasantly surprised.

March 13, 2018 at 10:18 PM #530611Comparing may steal some joy when I realize another person is more talented but, it sets me a goal to achieve.
Knowing I cant reach that goal is the only thing that ruines my day. ATM I have hope I can get to where I want to be in Daz. Ive given up on my job of choice.March 13, 2018 at 10:40 PM #530628You’re so right. I have a BUNCH of my first renders. They were from 2002 and 2003 with Vicky 2. Most of them look like a child’s drawing.
But in reality, I can go back to when I first started entering contests a year or so ago and pick that stuff apart. And a year from now I should be able to do the same with what I’m putting out now.
