The amount of times I've seen people use the Forums on here to troll or just be incredibly rude to others for no good reason is honestly getting super exhausting. Like when people post rude unwanted criticism nobody's asked for. Or when you ask for help and people act like assholes and treat you like a toddler just for being confused.

it'd be nice if we'd be given the ability to block certain people from interacting with our forum posts.

Because it's really ruining the vibe for me, making me not want to share much anymore. And most likely others struggle with this too.

I thought about how to reply to this. I agree people online can be asses, myself included. What Ive learned is its common. There are even social justice warriors in righteous armor that will occasionally swoop in to defend the helpless victim. My suggestion is to grow balls and deal with them. Tell them to Fkoff. Go ahead, try it. Tell me to Fkoff.

Yes, a block function would be terrific to mute those who consistently mistakenly believe they have something valuable to contribute. With a block function, they can blather all they like without interrupting.

I do hereby sign your petition.

    @d0gg0d
Tell them to Fkoff. Go ahead, try it. Tell me to Fkoff.

This message has a pretty layered tone—part self-awareness, part cynicism, part provocation. Here’s a breakdown of what’s going on:

    1. Opening: hesitant but casual

“I thought about how to reply to this.”
Signals a pause and some reflection, which softens what comes next slightly. It suggests the speaker wants to be taken as thoughtful, not purely reactive.

    2. Acknowledging toxicity (including themselves)

“people online can be asses, myself included… it’s common.”
This is disarming. By including themselves, they lower defensiveness and frame bad behavior as normal and widespread—not exceptional.

    3. Dismissing “helpers”

    “social justice warriors… righteous armor… swoop in…”
This part is loaded and sarcastic. It mocks people who intervene in online conflicts, framing them as performative or self-righteous. There’s a clear ideological edge here.

    4. Core message: toughen up

“My suggestion is to grow balls and deal with them.”
This is the thesis: instead of expecting protection or fairness, you should become more resilient. It’s blunt, masculine-coded, and intentionally abrasive.

    5. Escalation into challenge

“Tell them to Fkoff… Go ahead, try it. Tell me to Fkoff.”
Now it turns interactive and provocative. This is almost a test—pushing the reader to adopt the same aggressive stance. It also puts social pressure on the recipient to respond in kind.

    Overall tone
    Blunt / confrontational
    Cynical about online behavior
    Anti-sensitivity / pro-toughness
    Slightly performative (inviting a reaction)
What they really seem to be saying

Underneath the rough language, the core idea is:

“Online spaces are harsh and unfair. Don’t expect people to protect you—build your own resilience and push back.”

But instead of expressing that constructively, they wrap it in:

    mockery (of “social justice warriors”)
aggression (telling people to “grow balls”)
and a dare (inviting you to swear at them)
    Subtext / intent
They might be testing boundaries or trying to provoke a reaction
They value self-reliance over community moderation
They may be frustrated with perceived over-sensitivity online

The “tell me to Fkoff” line suggests they’re comfortable with conflict—even inviting it

Yes, a block function would be terrific to mute those

Would be so nice. Waiting long for this option. @3demon

Yeah I agree with you both

I didn't reply to ADAM cuz he's shown many times he's just a rude troll. he's literally one of the reasons I want this block button. would be nice if the moderators actually listen to this suggestion :/

You cant imagine my joy when you get the ability to block me and add a wall to your safe space an mine. My ability is to read the first couple lines of your post, realize its another rant against me because you have TDS and just ignore the majority of whatever it was you driveled on about.
Yes, I get it. He's batshit crazy. watch Clown Planet on YouTube and you'll consider him one of the sanest people to walk the planet

    @BruhWhat780

Ive probably been on this forum almost as long as you've been alive. Grow a pair and stand up for yourself. Climb the stairs out of your grandmas basement and get some sun and fresh air.

I did the same thing to a mods avatar years ago but I did a better job.

I too would like a block function simply because I find anyone who uses "TDS" as some sort of insult is just an idiot or troll who lacks the ability or desire to debate.

Also, this place isn't about politics, so I'm not sure why some people keep bringing politics up.

@BruhWhat780 Trump Derangement Syndrome. It's what MAGA's use against anyone who attacks Trump, regardless of whether the criticism is valid. Ironically enough, the people with 'TDS' are actually the MAGA themselves, except it's actually called Shared Psychotic Disorder, which cultists often have.

@yanoma Thank you for the explanation! I'm sadly.. not surprised to hear this.

I have had way too many bad encounters with MAGA myself-
Especially as someone who's a Woman of Color and Potentially Bi (I'm not very sure about my sexuality yet)

its pretty sad how hateful people can be towards others just for being a bit different from them.

But won't get into politics too much further, cause like you said this site isn't really meant for that.

but yeah I'd really love to be able to block those types of people on here too.

Personally, I don't think a block button is a good idea, unless of course, there is actual provable harrassment. Another user disagreeing with your opinion and, perhaps, being a tad sarcastic isn't harrassing or hectoring behaviour; some people are far more blunt and have less tact than others when delivering their opinion.

For example, there is a world of difference between someone saying - say, for example - ''Your take on G9 is dumb and infantile.'' And, ''Only the offspring of siblings would have such a dumbass take, why don't you KYS''. If the person continues to target a user, regardless of the topic, with comments such as the latter and the abuse escalates, then that is, indeed, bullying and harrassment. The former blunt remark is not.

People have different viewpoints and are going to disagree, regardless of the site or the forum. Perhaps, a mute button, as a compromise, would be more fitting than a block function? That way, you don't have to subject yourself to posts or comments from users you find annoying, or maybe, just ignore sarky remarks completely? I'm sure actual serious harrassment is against the rules and can be reported.

Anyway, I haven't been here in a while (busy IRL) but hope everyone is doing well and had a good Easter (if you celebrate it; if not, hope you still got to enjoy a chocolate egg or two that wasn't full of palm oil and low in cocoa solids!) lol 🙂

Oh I’m not surprised by what you’re writing here. There’s no sense in trying to discuss things with these people. They’re just obsessed. You can see how that plays out in the Showcase thread.
But enough of this political drivel. We know where things stand.
Thanks, Charley, for your Easter greetings.🐰
