Did anyone got to read a post discussing the possibility that Daz is working on Genesis 10 (or not) or already developing DS6?
I only managed to read two or three replies before the post disappeared but it was already interesting. Did anyone got to read more than that? I wonder which reason was given to delete it besides "aGaInsT ThE tOs?It probably was the usual moderator censoring what he doesn't like as always, what a cyst for the company.
In my opinion I'm not sure they'll release G10 soon, if ever, without adressing G9 issues first. If they want to milk the cow more they'll rush G10 which would actually be a Genesis 9 Part 2 with Male and Female split.
August 22, 2025 at 6:21 PM #2142267That really doesn't surprise me.
No doubt when the time comes, they will rush it out and botch it like G9.

August 23, 2025 at 8:14 AM #2142338i don't think there will be a G10 anytime soon, for now they are more than busy with DS6 aka 2025. it's still in alpha stage and we are at the end of august now, the pressure to get a proper release version out until 2025 is over must be huge. so they already have trouble with too much work, adding the development of a new figure on top wouldn't be smart at this point. i'm pretty sure G9 will stay at least another 2/3 years. on top are a huge amount of people who are still on G8, for them G9 is literally brand new ... adding another figure at this point wouldn't bring any benefit for the marketplace. another aspect is that a potential G10 would need something really new, something state of the art, which would give a reason to switch. something what G9 is lacking ... and that's something you don't develop alongside while your dev's have trouble getting the base program out of alpha stage.
August 23, 2025 at 8:27 AM #2142339I agree, I don't think it likely.
TBH I reckon that most folk who are going to fall into line & use G9 would have already done so by now. They are well into the diminishing returns area with G9 base IMO.
G8 support is still very strong, for good reason. A lot of folk have tried G9, found it wanting compared to what they already had for what they wanted to do, & have stuck with, or gone back to using G8.
For a noticeable improvement, time would be better spent on new optimised male & female base meshes. If they are doing that, they would be better calling it G10F & G10M than a G9 derivative.
August 23, 2025 at 9:29 AM #2142342I had my first look tonight for the first time in a few days. I don't think we'll see anything with Genesis 10 for least a year. I'm happy with G8 right now.
August 23, 2025 at 4:23 PM #2142370@conkec1993 It was very lazy of them to just lump everything together the way that they did. From characters to hair to clothing, it's a mess.
August 23, 2025 at 8:59 PM #2142390Posts like this will be labelled "speculation" and deleted, along with comments that discuss company policy or direction. They have always been very touchy about their image.
August 27, 2025 at 3:01 AM #2142807And I thought I was the only one with the same feelings.. Can't stand G9,if you want a character to look decent, you have your work cut out. And don't get me started on the breasts.. In all my life, I have NEVER seen such preposterous breasts. I'll stick with G8/8.1..
August 27, 2025 at 3:24 AM #2142809I have barely started using G9 as only recently have male characters started looking like they are not total garbage that you have to rebuild from the ground up, all with the same ugly androgynous face straight-out of "Earth: Final Conflict", and none of them is remotely better looking, more realistic, easier to use than G8 or G8.1. So I won't hold my breath waiting for G10, seeing as it will most probably be rushed and with little to no significant improvement other than getting rid of that ideology that fully grown males and females can be framed on the same base when in reality, diverging changes start appearing in the womb.
August 27, 2025 at 11:07 AM #2142861diverging changes start appearing in the womb
I remember from a biology class a long ways back that we all start off developing as females from the moment of gestation. After about six weeks, whatever in our genetic mix says that we're going to be male kicks in and the girl parts stop developing and the boy parts take over. This is why boys have nipples although they are non-functional. Most mammals go the same route.
August 27, 2025 at 12:11 PM #2142864Genesis was androgynous as well. This isn't the first time DAZ has tried this. Both times, it was a step backwards.
August 28, 2025 at 9:53 AM #2142951Yes & that was quickly replaced by G2M & G2F.
Working from a single base mesh will always be a badly optimised compromise.
August 28, 2025 at 1:36 PM #2142971I agree with that developmental theory to be true, as it makes sense for biology to start from an "X", since it all starts with a female cell, then developping according to the remaining "X" or "Y" added by the male's gamete. But I'm not very literate in that domain of expertise, we didn't have the cream on the crop in terms of Biology teacher back in school.
