Took me a while, but here are all the Tifa Lockharts I have. Can't say I really love all of them, some are pretty bad IMO.

    yay, more models!
DazWiz's looks the best, I think. the one from zeppers is more or less nice too. but others... not sure I'd ever use them :p most of them probably made from older games. these two look fresh and realistic.

Zepper's would be my choice. And I wouldn't d/l that one either, but it's the best of the lot imo.

Yes, the G9s look the best I think. I was surprised because I always think of BlopBlop and Guhcoituz as top choices. Problem is that the G9s come with very little clothing but the G8s have a lot of clothes and a couple of hair choices.

I believe this one is missing, and it's a very good one: https://zonegfx.com/tifa-for-genesis-8-and-8-1-female-by-sonne/

@khefrenn And to think I installed her. I forgot to render her, too bad, I really like Sonne.

It's so different watching the promos and just rendering out of the box. I think I really don't do justice to them. They'd look better in more capable hands.

Yeah, but point is it's so many Tifa, it's easy to forget about one, especially as they are all using their own subfolders when installing characters.

Yes, the folder structure is a war zone. Some are just thrown in the root of the database and have no indication if the are for G8, G8.1 or G9. That's why I install in a clean database one character at a time and choose which ones to keep.

@ulysses Interesting choice! I'm curious, what do you like about Zeppers's model? I notice some differences, like the chin, lip, and eye shapes that seem off from the original. Plus, the iris looks a bit distorted and the color is different. I really tried to make mine as close to the original as possible, so I'm curious if you found something in theirs that you prefer. Your feedback would really help me improve. By the way, here's how my Tifa looks with my lighting setup. https://i.imgur.com/sSnTRK9.jpeg

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

My "issue" with your Tifa would be only having the head morph and not the matching body.
Your head and hair is better, I can tell after performing a test, but a character like Tifa is not only a head and her body features are equally important. I'm used to rework body morph to recreate characters, and mod imported characters from games to make them looking more "realistic" and better when shot at certain angles, or with different/casual outfits, since their initial morph are made to wear certain clothing, and that can cause the body to look deformed on some spots, so I can probably deal with it.
But point is not everyone is willing to go through that, nor have the knowledge/habit to do it.

@Kheops Yeah, I’ve heard this feedback from a few people too. Since Daz Studio models are highly customizable, I thought just doing the head part would be enough. The body was never going to match the game version perfectly anyway, and making full body morphs slows me down a lot. For experienced users that usually works fine, but like you said, for beginners or people who just don’t mess around with morphs much, it can be a bit of a hassle.

From next month I’m planning to start including body morphs in my workflow. If it doesn’t slow me down too much, I’d also like to go back and update some of my older models with proper body morphs too.

Also, if there’s anything about the head morphs, textures etc. that doesn’t look quite right, feel free to let me know here or in DMs. I’m always open to feedback from anyone!

    @dazwiz,

I prefer ultra-realism. Based on what trader2h posted, zeppers was the closest to my preference. I am not into games, toons, or fantasy. So really, my opinion on this is not worth considering if your goal is to produce a product for FF fans.

Your render is much better than what was posted by trader2h. If that had been the one originally posted, I would have given it more consideration.

@ulysses Ah, got it! Thanks for sharing your perspective. Makes sense how different setups can make the same character feel quite different.

@DW Well, it can become an issue with some characters.
Girls like Lara Croft, ladies from Resident Evil, the Witcher games, etc. have a realistic shape. A few tweaks, and you're good.
But with characters with a more stylized, and very specific shape like Tifa, Aerith or Scarlet, it can quickly become a pain to make it from scratch if not knowing what you do, and without owning extra morphs for breasts, glutes, etc.
And it can be harder to mix and match with others parts from similar characters when you can't start from a pristine G9 figure then use morphs, and skins: you don't have extra folders with the skin, hair, etc.
