So what I'd like to do is upload an image I've created in DAZ to an online AI generator so that it can apply a digital paint job to it. Any recommendations for a suitable FREE first time try out?

Why not just go for an Adobe preset filter instead of using AI? I'm just curious, because AI is a bit of a bummer since it takes away from us real artists (stealing our work).
I'm not working in PS, but is the filter an external thing? I just really want to see what effects I can get on the work I've already created and at 65, I'm probably a little long in the tooth to start getting into PS.

There are heaps of sites but you could try this one. It is probably not exactly what you're after.
Thanks Frank, I'll check the link out in the morning 🙂 Don't get me wrong, I'm quite happy with the DAZ works I've created but it would just be nice to experiment a little (as I keep telling the wife!!)

The site I linked is probably not what you want as it changes the base image considerably. A Google search will come up with much better options if you just want to try out a few filters. A lot of them will need payment or sign-up so discard those.
a little long in the tooth - nowhere near, and no worse than the AI options. Embrace the adequacy... 🙂
@unusualsuspex I've had some good results with the enhancement function at Krea.ai - and also bad results and laughable results. A free option is available which limits the amount of processing time, so have fun and beware the rabbit hole. 🙂
Thanks to all 🙂 I've actually found that my renders aren't actually enhanced by AI, and to be honest AI doesn't really offer me much that I can't now create myself.
Try Artbreeder. I'm addicted. their custom SDXL models understand A LOT- I described a DAZ Genesis model and scene in Composer with an unrelated image, and I'll be honest, It's hard to tell it wasn't a DAZ render:

Full disclosure, I borrowed that part from the original image, which as I recall was some Pixar looking Dora-Vanellope-Rapunzel chimera, totally off-model. I just reworked it to evoke Daz/iClone.
So then, Biff wanted to transmogrify Daz renders to something a little differenty...
Here's an original DAZ render of Meowl (it's here at Zone folks!):
I stuck it in Composer and generated a set of variants using very high image influence (otherwise I'd get mostly very realistic whole owls):
I picked one I like and tweaked the values a bit (the gray tile is a deep, alpha, perlin noise sheet I use for fine tuning), and voila! A much more photorealistic version of my very bad DAZ render:
The end result looks nice, I think!
It was the "overpriced 3D model" that killed me Amber. Daz asking $15-$20 for simple poses etc.
@amberkat - I'm kinda lacking in motivation atm and been playing around with img2img "restoring" old historic photos.
