I got a message today when clicking on an anonymize.xyz link to Renderotica that the response had been blocked. Since I was able to get to the URL when I copied and pasted it into the browser, I suspect 'rotica decided to check the http-referer header and blocking anything that is referred from anonymize.xyz. Anyone else seeing this?

I believe zonegfx.com sends the referrer when clicking on a link so it's easy for site to check the 'referer' header and block access if set to something they don't like.

I sent a message to hunter some days ago. We'll see whether the 'Referrer-Policy: strict-origin-when-cross-origin' will be adjusted to ’no-referrer’ or ’same-origin’.

Don't click on the link. Select (highlight) the link and drag it to the top of your browser to open in a new tab. Takes 2 seconds.

As Frank21 says - although, if someone has the address shown as LINK and not the visible URL then it does not work. even trying to Rt Click and copy address was a bust... which seems ironic considering the site 🙂

For this site there seems to be no reason to add a referrer header when clicking on a link to an external page.
The same might apply to embedded images - not sure whether the image hosts require that one uses a referrer.

Before one points to forum rules please ignore my personal opinion about this: I have no problem if the images would be downloaded from the original host so if one clicks on the product link the image would be already in the local browser cache and not downloaded again in a slightly different resolution.

I suspect it is for revenue generation. anonymize-xyz has ads as you sit and wait the 5 seconds. Ads generate money, which goes somewhere. Also, it does provide a layer of protection for this site regarding legal issues.
