Just so you all are aware, Renderosity together with RenderHub have launched a direct attack on ZoneGFX, believing that we are the source of every one of 250 other GFX websites or something. They have used false claims against us "making money off of stolen assets" which is absolutely not one bit the truth. We make no profit off the items shared among our users. The shares are voluntary and no one is paying anyone for these assets.

But that is what they are telling companies like MEGA and Google to pull down those links from the Blog.

Today I witnessed just how aggressive this is - particularly since the Vendor doing it - is themselves one of the biggest copyright infringers and selling converted items they do not hold the copyright on, but they have gotten away with it so long because the big companies do not consider Daz Studio products important enough to go after the vendor, yet they have stolen copyrighted products and resold them for thousands of dollars for the past few years.

Today a product from 3D UK (a Brazilian based vendor who seems to be untouchable by the law) had a product that was just uploaded 5 minutes earlier to our blog - pulled down from MEGA, and MEGA killed the owner's account without even questioning or investigating.

This is the reason why we tell you to post at least 4 or 5 different links on totally different services. This will allow people to propagate the items and get them for their own use. No one SELLS this stuff, at least not our users nor our Administrators or Moderators.

I'm personally tired of this. We are looking into possibly using Torrents around the world to post these particular vendors item, which will then become unstoppable in the long run. As Torrents have thousands of source users seeding and leeching, and once the items are in the Torrent circle - they can be reconstructed by those who originally leeched them. And they can be reseeded FOREVER.

I personally DO NOT support these vendors, as their behavior is detrimental to healthy interest among users WHO MIGHT HAVE TRIED THE STUFF and THEN GONE AND BOUGHT IT.

Most vendors do not realize that most who download this stuff - do so because the initial pricing is so ridiculously high and there are not sufficent discounts available at release. Daz for example released Genesis 9, and sells almost every product release an no less than $17 each... and discounts do not go below 30%, but the prices have already been jacked up so they never go below $17, unless stacking works - which even for Daz++ users MOST TIMES DOES NOT WORK. So for those of us who are HOBBYISTS or have FAMILIES TO FEED, the choices are either pay exhorbitant prices, and let your family starve or skip paying electric, water, heat etc.

We all know that at the larger sites, everything will eventually pop up on a holiday sale or a day sale. Use the DAZ DEALS Plugin for your browser and see the up and down curves of sales and you'll see what the lowest price was on a given Daz product, and you can decide if that price once was there, it will be again. Just have to wait for it. The solution is to grab a copy at the shares, and wait.

Big software companies ended up making their MILLIONS off Torrent Share folks. We eventually got tired of cracks and tricks that worked only for a time, and we got dependent on the software and became LOYAL customers eventually. Still waited for a SALE, but we bought in.

That is the nature of the beast.

However, vendors attacking one site isn't going to deter people from sharing their already copyright infringing stuff. I'm personally tired of reporting their theft to the actual copyright holders - only to be thanked and told it's not worth going after someone without money to pay the legal fees, or people in countries where the current laws will not support copyright theft lawsuits.

SUMMARY:

PLEASE either share THESE particular vendors' products PRIVATELY, we will leave the FILLED post without removing them so that others can FIND those items and request them from the FILLER directly - if you as the filler wish to post to the BLOG, please POST 4 to 5 varied downloader links. That way it becomes harder for the products to be fully wiped out from the blog. Once the last of the 4 or 5 links is dead, someone can inform us and we can refill with new links.

RenderHub has the most copyright infringers doing this. Some of them sell at Renderosity as well. Renderosity sent out a newsletter all about piracy with all the fake accusations in it to outrage customers, but what they did was made their customers aware of us, and after that newsletter, our membership grew. Surprise!
